Higashino Kanade tracked down his parents’ killer, then traveled to a parallel world to investigate Gryphon Ashburn’s inheritance and gather knowledge of magecraft. The investigation exposed lethal experiments and ended with Kanade battling a regenerating beast while Jirobou Seigen Shitou fled with Roxanne.

Higashino Kanade defeated Olga Marie and the Clock Tower magi who challenged him, while arranging a way onto the Mystic Eyes Collection Train and negotiating with Dr. Hartless. He boarded the train with Waver and his companions, where Hartless’s plan and a confrontation with Hephaestion began to unfold.

  • Higashino Kanade used his Curse Mark of Heaven to kill the Demonic Beast, but collapsed from the strain and later accepted Luvia’s research materials and a contract to serve as her study companion.
  • Higashino Kanade intervened in Luvia and Olga Marie’s dispute, defeated Olga Marie in their duel, and then beat the magi who challenged him in the arena.
  • Higashino Kanade publicized his Sharingan through Waver’s research paper, endured assassination attempts, and told Luvia he would leave soon despite agreeing to let her pursue him.

Higashino Kanade investigated Theresa’s murder, escaped Einnashe, and defeated Hartless, then returned to the Ryougi household and trained with Kurama. After preparing for his trial in the Fourth Holy Grail War, he arrived in Fuyuki and began summoning a Servant.

  • Higashino Kanade accepted Olga Marie’s bodyguard commission after Theresa was found dead, then fought Hephaestion aboard the train and helped the others escape her attacks.
  • Higashino Kanade and Gamadou burned a path through Einnashe, while Caleb and the others disrupted its Ley Line so the train could escape.

Higashino Kanade and Ryougi Shiki fought through the Holy Grail War, saving Sakura and defeating Matou Zouken, Lancelot, Cú Chulainn, and Finn. After surviving Kiritsugu’s missile strike and taking in Kaineth and Sola, Kanade received an invitation to the Banquet of Kings.

  • Higashino Kanade reunited with Ryougi Shiki, formed a pact with her, and prepared his home and allies for the Holy Grail War.
  • At the harbor, Higashino Kanade fought Finn until Iskandar, Gilgamesh, and the other Servants interrupted the battle, and Tohsaka Tokiomi recalled Gilgamesh.
  • Higashino Kanade and Ryougi Shiki went to the Matou residence, where Matou Kariya died after ordering Lancelot to kill Matou Zouken, and Kanade destroyed Zouken and rescued Sakura.
