Chapter 4 4. Oliver
The Sixth Street Gang was born from the American Veterans who were angered by the NCPD's prolonged inaction after the Fourth Corporate War. They tout themselves as 'bringing justice to the city,' but their actions are no different from other gangs. Their total number is around two thousand three hundred, and among these people, Oliver is the newest, having only joined the gang less than a week ago.
Originally, as a newcomer, he shouldn't have followed the captain to Watson District, because everyone knows that the Sixth Street Gang has always respected the territory of other gangs, only wanting to guard its own Santo Domingo, so it rarely sets foot in other areas. But unfortunately, this time, a batch of important firearms smuggled by the Sixth Street Gang was robbed while being transported through Watson District, and their squad happened to be around Watson District. Therefore, as the first people to investigate the firearms incident, they rushed over as soon as they received the relevant communication.
However, what happened was still too stimulating for this newcomer who had just joined the gang.
Who would have thought that not long after arriving in Little China in Watson District, the Maelstrom members they were negotiating with started shooting at them because of a verbal disagreement? This was too barbaric. He had long heard that the Maelstrom were a bunch of lunatics who transformed themselves into monsters, but when he actually met them, he found that they were even crazier than he imagined.
Oliver's squad had a total of ten people. The captain was headshot by a Maelstrom member who drew his gun right away. In response, before hiding behind cover, Oliver's squad killed four Maelstrom members. But the Maelstrom brought a full thirty people this time. With three times the numbers and that crazy cybernetic modification, even if the Sixth Street Gang members were mostly from the military and were many times more elite than them, they were beaten so badly that they couldn't raise their heads.
Damn it, damn it, damn it, I only joined the Sixth Street Gang because my dad was in it, I had no ability, and I wanted to make a living. My dad even specially found me a capable captain to take care of me, but this capable captain died on his first mission. What's the matter with all this!
If the way his head exploded could be considered a talent show, then it could really be considered a skill.
"Thump."
While Oliver was thinking wildly, a teammate next to him was hit by a bullet and fell to the ground, twitching a few times before becoming still.
Damn it.
Oliver quickly looked around at his teammates and found that while he was muttering to himself, there were less than four teammates left.
Where's the NCPD, where are the cops, help us, the gunshots here are so loud, can't you hear them, help us.
Oliver actually wants to run away now, but he knows very well the consequences of turning his back to the enemy and betraying his teammates. The former is at most just death, but if the latter is found out, it's more than just death. At that time, even if his dad has some status in the Sixth Street Gang, he won't be able to save him.
According to the gang's rules, people who abandon their teammates have to be tied up, and the gang's rules are executed by the families of the abandoned teammates. They will take a razor and slowly shave their chins from pink to red, and finally to white.
Oliver used to read a book when he was bored, and it wrote about 'scraping the bone to remove poison.' The description in it was very manly, but Oliver didn't want to experience it.
"Bang."
It's over, it's over, I'm doomed!
Just as Oliver thought this, he realized that the gunshot didn't come from the Maelstrom side, but more like from the side of the Maelstrom and them.
"Bang bang bang."
In the chaotic gunshots, Oliver spotted that the group of Maelstrom scum in front of him instantly fell down four people, and suddenly suffering an unexpected attack, they were shouting and yelling, even forgetting to face them, and many people actually stood up and wanted to find cover again.
Lunatics.
Oliver decisively opened fire. The marksmanship that his dad had trained him in since he was a child allowed the bullets to find their place. After a few shots, several more Maelstrom goons fell down.
"Where did these people come from again? Are there so many Sixth Street Gang bastards!"
"Bang."
The loudest and most clamorous guy in the Maelstrom was shot in the head, even though he was clearly hiding behind cover.
"Damn, smart weapon, Kang Tao stuff!?!?"
Amidst the Maelstrom's panicked shouts, Karl was calculating the remaining bullets in his mind.
The Lexington in his hand has a magazine capacity of twenty-one rounds. He fired a total of six rounds just now, killing five Maelstrom members.
As for how Karl, who had never fired a gun before, could achieve such results on his first try, he could only say that he was cheating.
After the first shot, as he thought, he had already stored all the data related to this firearm in his mind, as well as a series of messy influences such as wind direction and temperature, so that after firing the first shot, the second shot was like getting an automatic lock. When he raised his hand and pulled the trigger, he could know where the bullet would land.
This feeling is like locking onto a person with the cursor when playing a game, hitting wherever you point, no, it's even more comfortable than that.
The sixth shot, using a ricochet to kill the Maelstrom member hiding behind cover, was Karl's attempt, and as expected, he could do it.
Watching people's heads explode under his gun, Karl didn't have any adverse reactions. Rather, he had already thought about sending these guys who disturbed his peaceful breakfast to hell.
Karl is actually adapting faster than he thought. Not everyone can shoot and kill people within half an hour of transmigrating, and kill five in one go. The little demons in hell who can't receive souls would have to worship him as an idol.
Hiding behind a trash can, feeling the trash can full of garbage on his side being hit with a 'poof poof' sound, Karl felt that he and garbage were inexplicably connected, no matter what kind of garbage it was.
The recoil of kinetic weapons is a bit strong. Although he paid attention to holding it with both hands when firing, Karl's hands are still numb now. Fortunately, this tingling sensation is also being adjusted in his memory, and it doesn't affect Karl's ability to get rid of those bastards at all.
I have to learn the proper shooting stance and evasive maneuvers sooner or later.
There aren't many covers where the Maelstrom and the Sixth Street Gang fought. It would have been fine if they were only facing one side, but when facing two at the same time, the Maelstrom were no different from walking naked on the street. When Karl's gunshots stopped, more than thirty Maelstrom members had all fallen to the ground, and only Oliver was left of the Sixth Street Gang guys.
Karl's slight anger has subsided.
The conflict is over, the matter is resolved.
