Amid the cheers of the Barghests—or rather, the former Barghests—they watched as New America's forces, which had been surrounding the stadium and closing in step by step, lifted the encirclement and began withdrawing in scattered groups.
In the excitement that came with surviving a disaster, the former Barghests could hardly believe it.
They had actually retreated.
Just because of a single sentence from KK—who should now be called Boss KK—New America's people had pulled back. They had not even dared take another step forward before slinking away like that!

Although Kurt Hansen was dead, they had a new boss, and they had successfully defended Dogtown!

Indescribable excitement exploded through the crowd, turning into deafening cheers. The surviving former Barghests waved their arms and shouted that name at the top of their lungs:

For most of the former Barghests, this victory was no different from protecting their own families. They had defended Dogtown and protected their homes.
Not many of the Barghests under Kurt Hansen had truly been loyal to Hansen, but there were countless who were loyal to Dogtown.
The same was true for those who were not native to Dogtown, who had come from all over the world and signed contracts with Hansen to become Barghests.
For those Barghests who could no longer get by elsewhere in the world for one reason or another, or who simply wanted to make a living and live better, Dogtown was like a second home that had taken them in.
