What did it feel like to enter cyberspace?
Carl had to admit, it felt quite peculiar.
It wasn't as if he had never connected to cyberspace before, but accessing it with an AI's assistance was a first.
Put simply, it was like viewing the world from a different angle.
If the old Carl had walked on the ground, observing everything from the earth, then now he was flying, looking down from high above and taking in everything he could and couldn't see before.
"Cyberspace entry confirmed. Providing assistance."
With the authority Carl had granted the AI, he felt his consciousness gradually clearing.
It was as if he had constructed a body out of data within cyberspace. He could "see" the data around him, above him, and beneath his feet, like water, wind, and earth.
He strolled through the data.
An eerily comfortable sense of ease enveloped Carl, giving him a strange feeling.
It seemed that if he wanted to, he could stretch out his "hands" and move his "legs," stirring that "water," "wind," and "earth" until everything changed according to his will.
Is this some kind of magic? Though at my age, it's a bit late to become a magical boy.
That was what he thought, yet he was delighted.
Change.
He could change things.
He could change all this data.
It was as natural as a heartbeat, as simple as opening his eyes, as easy and effortless as breathing.
"Assisted synchronization complete. Neural network connection complete. Enhancement required: no. Control transferred."
With the AI's help, Carl felt as though he had "drifted" before something.
He "opened his eyes" and looked at it.
Or rather, at that expanse of something.
The moment he "saw" it, Carl immediately understood why people called it the Blackwall.
Because it was an
