What was the point of being a School Governor?

Anton didn't know. At least, in his eyes, a School Governor was just a sucker.

They paid for the school's upkeep and resources, and the only power they held was to appoint or dismiss the Headmaster. It was a terrible deal.

But as he watched the school's curriculum reform unfold, Anton began to notice a few things.

Clearly, replacing the School Governors was only one of the things Dumbledore planned to do before stepping down. He had gathered all the Professors and teachers mainly to put the upcoming curriculum reforms into effect.

Anton could also see that Dumbledore was deliberately giving up authority. He was letting Professor McGonagall take the lead, while he himself simply watched from the sidelines and rarely offered his opinion.

In fact, the curriculum reforms had been underway for several years.

Back then, Anton had written "Muggles, Werewolves, and Pure-bloods" in Azkaban Prison, then explained its contents in the Ministry of Magic's Courtroom, describing his discovery that there might be hundreds of millions of Muggle Squibs in this world.

At the time, Grindelwald, disguised as Dumbledore, had begun telling the Professors that they needed to "adapt to the times."

After Anton got out of prison, many of the school's courses changed.

The material the Professors taught grew increasingly detached from the textbooks Young Wizards were required to buy. Instead, they began to focus more on their own understanding of magic.

Over the years, Professor McGonagall had gained a firm grasp of the key issues through her hands-on management of the school.

This clearly had little to do with Anton. The Professors all had the textbooks for the Azkaban Academy courses. When those had been compiled, Cabin members had sought the Professors' help, so everyone had a general
