"Lupin!" Snape's mournful face, as if his wife had died, suddenly became animated.
Slowly drawing his wand, Snape strode forward with determination.
"Stop!" Pedro the Goblin roared, glaring coldly at Snape. "This is Pedro's Medical Room, private territory. No one is allowed to kill here! If you want to duel, wait until he leaves."
Snape's gloomy eyes flickered as though he had recalled something unpleasant. He pushed Pedro aside and walked in as if no one else were there.
Poor Pedro was only four-foot-three. His head was pushed aside, making him stumble awkwardly under Anton's strange gaze.
"I'll kill you!"
Pedro roared. With a bang, his figure flashed, and he appeared before Snape.
His flushed face was clearly furious. "Get out!"
But he was too short and could only glare at Snape's stomach. Snape ignored him entirely, staring only at the pale-faced man before him. "Lupin!"
His wand swung. "Sectumsempra!"
Boom!
A massive shield covered in magical runes descended from above, smashing through the wooden floor and blocking Lupin. It deflected Snape's spell.
Pedro snapped his fingers, and the machine in the corner of the hall that emitted light began to operate.
In an instant, he transformed into a towering six-foot-six figure. His thick fingers resembled a dragon's claws as magic surged around him. "This is your final warning, Snape. Get out!"
Pedro's eyes were full of vigilance, yet he still did not take the initiative to attack Snape.
It was not because he had principles. Snape's reputation in the Land of Chaos had reached its peak back when the Dark Lord had run rampant.
Though he refused to admit afterward that the masked servant most trusted by the Dark Lord had been him, the Dark Wizards and intelligent creatures of the Land of Chaos all knew.
It had been Snape!
Everyone feared him!
This man had no principles whatsoever. While killing White Wizards for the Dark Lord, he even killed Dark Wizards.
They had been on his own side! How could he strike so ruthlessly?
"Lupin must die today. If you intend to stop me..." Snape's icy eyes swept over the Goblin. "Master Pedro, then I can only be discourteous."
"Impossible!" Pedro stood heroically like a true champion, holding the line alone against ten thousand. He raised a massive shield in one hand while countless magical runes appeared around the other. "If you want to kill my patient, step over my corpse first."
In the corner of the hall.
The Old Wizard cackled softly. "Pedro has no choice. He signed the Unbreakable Vow with you. If Lupin dies, he's finished too."
Anton pursed his lips and watched the two men confronting each other. "Teacher, do you think my Shield Charm can block his Sectumsempra?"
The Old Wizard was suddenly startled.
"Are you insane? I thought you'd secretly learned so much by my side. You're so smart, so why don't you know how to read the situation?"
Anton shook his head. "Some things are worth doing, and some are not."
When said in English, the Old Wizard declared that he could not understand it, yet he still looked anxiously at Anton and pleaded bitterly, "Stop being crazy. That's Snape!"
"You're just a Young Wizard. You've only learned a few tricks. What the hell do you know?"
Boom!
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
The battle began in an instant. Spells flashed through the air. One was brimming with murderous intent, while the other had no way out. Their opening moves were their most vicious spells.
Before long, the room was filled with cracks and wreckage.
Inside the house enlarged by the Undetectable Extension Charm, everything shook.
Like a bubble that could burst at any moment.
"Protego!"
Anton cast two Shield Charms in rapid succession, protecting himself and Anna.
Spells exploded around them. Furniture fragments flew everywhere, striking the Shield Charms and sending ripples across them.
He calmly watched the fierce battle, then suddenly pointed his wand at a wooden floorboard. "Protego!"
Snape's Sectumsempra flew over and instantly struck the pale blue barrier covering the floorboard. With a soft pop, the Shield Charm shattered and failed.
But!
The floorboard was completely unharmed!
It could defend against it!
Anton instantly perked up, his mind racing as he considered how to break the deadlock.
Just then, Lupin let out a shrill howl. Thick wolf fur grew across his body, his legs stretched and lengthened continuously, and his head kept deforming.
Something moved in Anton's arms. Anna had somehow awakened. She broke free from his hand and charged desperately toward the passage on the other side of the hall.
The Old Wizard looked despairingly at the restless Anton. In the end, he drifted crazily through the spells flying through the air. "Hahaha, there's no hope for me! The little bastard is definitely going to die. He was my last hope. It's over, it's over. You should die too. Come keep me company! Hurry, come keep me company!"
The hall had become a complete mess.
If Anton had a spell that could calm people down, he would have loved to fire it at everyone in the hall.
What a bunch of lunatics!
Pedro had already gone mad with bloodlust. His eyes were crimson as he roared, "Fight for the Goblins! You human butchers! You killed my parents, killed my family, killed so many of my people! I want all of you dead! Dead!"
Goblin spells differed from those of wizards, forming a system of their own.
A purple-skinned Goblin resembling a robot appeared behind him. It had five heads and ten hands, each holding a massive longbow. Rune arrows formed from magic indiscriminately attacked everyone.
They attacked the Old Wizard, Snape, Lupin, Anton, and Anna.
The invincible Old Wizard darted in front of the Goblin to make faces one moment, then lunged at Snape the next, making him shiver from the cold and get hit by an arrow.
Snape waved his wand, and a hazy yellow light appeared. The Old Wizard shrieked and fled far away.
Snape resumed fighting the Goblin.
After transforming into a Werewolf, Lupin possessed extremely high resistance to spells. The magic only scratched tiny bloody marks across his skin. Like The Beast, he frantically tore at the gelatinous cage, roaring.
The machine that sprayed gel had been hit by a Sectumsempra. It was now smoking, clearly unable to last much longer.
Anton and Anna were not having such an easy time.
One arrow made the Shield Charm tremble as though it were about to break.
Before the second arrow could arrive, one of Snape's wildly flying spells reached them first.
"Damn it! Protego!"
Anton gritted his teeth and rushed toward Anna. In this situation, he could not care about anyone else. The only thing he could do was keep the little girl from getting killed.
The entire house let out a shrill groan, its body twisting as it shook violently.
At last, Anton grabbed Anna's hand. "Are you crazy?"
Anna's face was filled with determination. "The Time-Turner. I can't let it be destroyed!"
"Is it really that important?"
Anna bit her lip and looked seriously at Anton. "More important than my life!"
Anton let out a deep breath. "Go!"
The two rushed into the workshop. Cracks filled with magical patterns covered every wall, while wood chips and stone fragments flew everywhere. Anton could only keep casting Shield Charms on himself and Anna.
After casting them repeatedly, he felt as though his head were about to split apart.
The ground had already fractured. Some entire sections had buckled upward, while other places had collapsed into dark holes.
Anna staggered over to a shelf, pulled down a suitcase, opened it, and struggled to drag the enormous eight-meter-tall machine.
But it would not budge.
"No, no!" Anna's tiny body tugged with all its strength, and she was almost crying.
She looked up at Anton pleadingly, her eyes full of despair. "Please help me!"
Anton felt waves of needle-like pain stabbing through his mind. He shook his head hard and pulled Anna away.
"No! It absolutely can't break!" Anna screamed as Anton forcefully pressed her against his chest.
"Protego."
At last, only needing to cast one Shield Charm made Anton feel a tiny bit more relaxed.
He raised his wand again. "Wingardium Leviosa."
Anton let out a muffled groan, feeling as if his head were about to explode.
He laboriously swung his wand. The massive eight-meter behemoth sank into the suitcase. With a flick of his wand, the suitcase closed and flew over automatically.
Anna quickly spread her arms and hugged it tightly.
"Thank you!" Anna excitedly kissed Anton on the cheek.
"!!!"
