Dumbledore did not stay at the Old Cabin for long. He clearly had plenty to discuss with Grindelwald, and with Professor McGonagall present, Anton guessed it concerned coordination between Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and Durmstrang Institute during the upcoming Top 100 Tournament.
Of course, they would definitely discuss their junior, Tom Riddle, too.
Before leaving, Professor McGonagall gave Anton a worried look, then exchanged a glance with Lupin.
Lupin simply remained seated where he was, silent, and nodded slightly.
"Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw..."
He looked up at Anton with some concern. "The four great wizards who founded the school named their houses after their own surnames. If a fifth house is added, it should be called 'Weasley House,' not 'Anton Academy.'"
"Even the name 'Anton Academy' is wrong. It should be 'Anthony Academy.' We don't normally use the shortened name 'Anton' on formal occasions."
"Besides..."
Lupin pressed his lips together. "Dumbledore is the Greatest Wizard of the Century, and he's been headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for nearly a hundred years. If he intends to add a fifth house, 'Dumbledore House' would be more appropriate."
The implication was that this overbearing old man was determined to push Anton to the forefront.
Dumbledore had not only just become overbearing. He had always been that way.
Old Dumbledore was the sort who was normally pleasant and easygoing, smiling even when people took liberties with him. But the moment the "greater good" was involved, he turned as cold as stone, sometimes clinging to his own views so firmly that no one could change his mind.
That unquestionable authority and stubbornness lurking beneath his gentle, kindly smile ran bone-deep.
Anton shrugged indifferently, picked up a peach from the fruit platter on the table, examined it, and took a bite.
