Background
Chaldea recruited Ritsuka after discovering her compatibility for Spiritron Transfer when she went to donate blood. She was not a trained mage and possessed only limited Magic, but became Chaldea's Master after Lev Lainur's attack forced her and Mash Kyrielight to undertake the Grand Order. Before arriving in Fuyuki, the pair had already repaired six Singularities in their effort to preserve humanity 112 117.
Appearance
Ritsuka is an orange-haired young woman who commonly wears Chaldea's combat uniform during field operations 112 445.
- Orange hair.
- Carries a communication bracelet for contact with Chaldea 113.
- Bears Command Spells on her right hand 118.
Personality
Ritsuka is earnest, compassionate, and unusually persistent in seeking peaceful solutions. Even when confronting hostile or unpredictable Servants, she prefers to understand their motives and recruit them rather than immediately defeat them. This approach has allowed her and Mash to gather allies across multiple Singularities 288 460 495.
Although aware that she is only a mediocre mage, Ritsuka does not allow her lack of combat ability to stop her from acting. She repeatedly faces dangers that frighten her—including the First Hassan—when doing so may save an ally or strengthen humanity's chances of survival 359 362 364.
Abilities & Skills
Spiritron Transfer Compatibility
Ritsuka's compatibility with Chaldea's Spiritron Transfer system is the reason she was brought to Chaldea and enables her to enter Singularities on its behalf 117 270.
- Travels between Chaldea and Singularities through the Spiritron Frame.
- Can maintain contact with Chaldea through her communication bracelet when local conditions permit 113 288.

Ritsuka can perform the incantation and establish the Master-side connection for a Servant summoning, though her own Magic reserves are limited.
- Previous summoning attempts often failed and consumed her Magic 117.
- Jointly summoned Caster Gilgamesh with Fu Yuan, who supplied the required Magic 118.
- Forms contracts with Servants encountered during Singularities, allowing Chaldea to record their Magic and Spirit Origins for possible future summoning 158.
Gandr
Ritsuka's only stated Magecraft specialty is Gandr, also called a Yin Qi Bullet 362.
- A Rune Magic passed down in Northern Europe 362.
- Insufficient against enemies such as incorporeal ghost swarms, forcing her to rely on stronger allies 362.
Negotiation and Alliance-Building

- Was entrusted by Fu Yuan with persuading Gilgamesh of Uruk to hear Chaldea's purpose 448.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Fuyuki Singularity
Ritsuka and Mash arrive in an altered Fuyuki City expecting the usual Incineration of Humanity halo, only to find a world instead headed toward humanity's collapse. They are tasked with identifying and eliminating the cause 113.
She initially regards Fu Yuan as a possible culprit because he does not exist in Lord El-Melloi II's recollection of the Fourth Holy Grail War. After directly questioning him and accepting that he has no intention of destroying humanity, she forms an alliance with him and Artoria 115 116.
Using Fu Yuan's Magic, Ritsuka performs a Servant summoning that brings forth Caster Gilgamesh. Though he refuses to solve the crisis for her, he agrees to watch whether she and Mash prove worthy of assistance 118.
Sixth Singularity
Ritsuka enters the desert Sixth Singularity with Mash and Fu Yuan. She depends on Fu Yuan's protection against the hostile environment and powerful magical beasts, while continuing to seek alliances with local Servants and factions 269 271 272.
When the group learns that Ramesses II's possession of the Holy Grail is worsening the Burning of Human Order, Ritsuka still hopes for a peaceful resolution. She accepts that demonstrating strength may be necessary to earn his recognition and cooperation 288.
She supports the Mountain Dwellers, advocates for Cursed Arm Hassan, and personally proposes approaching the First Hassan rather than allowing Cursed Arm to face him alone 349 359 365. At the Atlas Institute, she and Mash become unsettled by Holmes's information about Romani, then confide in Fu Yuan about their doubts 381 382.
Seventh Singularity
Ritsuka is separated from Fu Yuan during the transfer to the Seventh Singularity but survives the fall because Mash uses her Noble Phantasm to absorb the impact 419 420.
After reaching Uruk, she acts as Chaldea's representative before King Gilgamesh and continues assisting the kingdom's people with everyday tasks while preparations against the Three Goddess Alliance proceed 448 484.
Ritsuka helps negotiate with Ereshkigal, answers the Underworld's gate questions honestly, and aids in bringing the goddess into their alliance 504 508. She later interprets the Tablet of Destinies, receiving a frightening vision related to King Solomon before Fu Yuan calms her with Vermilion Knight's Fire 514 515.
