Turning to face her as well, Ron leaned against the bench. They were sitting close together as he looked into her eyes.

"I used my teleportation to save the children aboard."

"The children? You saved the children on the plane!"

Maeve's mouth fell open in shock. During her sleepless nights, she had thought most often of the two little girls who had wanted her to take them away, only to be stopped by Homelander—their frightened, helpless little faces.

"But... but where are the children?"

At the memorial service still being held nearby, the official conclusion was that no one on that flight had survived.

"Come with me."

Ron held out his hand.

Remembering his ability, Maeve understood what he meant and placed her hand in his.

With a soft pop, the two vanished from where they stood.

On an uninhabited island somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean.

The sun shone brightly. On the natural grassland, a group of children ran out from the simple wooden cabins when they heard the sound.

Whenever Ron came, he brought them food and things they wanted.

"It's you."

Maeve immediately spotted the two little girls among the children. Overcome with emotion, she rushed forward and wrapped them tightly in her arms. Her eyes reddened as tears of joy streamed down her face amid her tangled emotions.

"You're really alive."

"All the children from the plane are here."

With his arms folded, he spoke softly.

By the time Maeve had seen all the children, it was already evening.
