As for Youye making up effects? Not only did she find that impossible.
The Dueling Rules had already displayed and confirmed this part of the effect for her. If she still did not believe it, she would be questioning the Dueling Rules themselves.
Effect resolution: C3 Munin's second effect successfully activated, destroying the Sovereign, which had been turned into a porcupine by black feathers; C2 the Sovereign's effect was negated; C1 Youye recovered 1000 LP (Youye LP: 2400 → 3400).
"Ah, Xingge fell for it after all!" Luo Hao sighed softly, while Wang Cheng silently nodded beside him.
Ever since Youye's turn had ended, they had known most of the Runick cards' information from dueling Munin, so they had guessed Chang Xingge would fall into Youye's trap.
However, neither of them would say that Chang Xingge had made the wrong move. Without knowing the effect, they would have done the same.
A loss was a loss, and it hurt, but Chang Xingge had not given up.
In her mind, Youye only had two cards, plus one draw made three. She had two cards in hand and two on the field. The card advantage gap had not widened yet.
Seeing that she had not given up, Youye did not say much. He merely smiled. "My turn, draw!"
After glancing at his hand, the corner of his mouth rose slightly. "I activate the Quick-Play Spell Runick Destruction, choosing a Special Summoned monster. The monster I choose to summon is Runick Fang, Geri!"
"When Geri is Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, I can add one Runick Spell from my Graveyard, except a Quick-Play Spell, to my hand. I add the Field Spell Runick Fountain from my Graveyard to my hand!"
Seeing Youye begin setting up and even recover Runick Fountain, Chang Xingge's earlier bitterness turned into genuine discomfort.
Wang Cheng and Luo Hao exchanged glances, both seeing the helplessness in each other's eyes. Having dueled Runick before, they both understood that Chang Xingge was only one step away from defeat.
"Any objections to going straight to Main Phase 1?" Youye, busy considering his next move, naturally did not notice any of this. After recovering Fountain, he looked toward Chang Xingge.
"No." Chang Xingge's only form of resistance, the Sovereign, had been lost in the previous turn's exchange. She no longer had any response, and even if she wanted to object, she had no way to act.
"I activate the Field Spell Runick Fountain. Then I activate the Quick-Play Spell Runick Flashing Fire from my hand, targeting the Beast on your field. Destroy it, then banish the top two cards of your deck."
"Next, I activate Fountain's effect. I return Slumber, Destruction, and Flashing Fire from my Graveyard to the bottom of my deck in any order I want, then draw three!"
After drawing three and looking at his hand, Youye revealed a mischievous smile. "I Normal Summon Effect Veiler from my hand."
Chang Xingge:?
She stared at Youye with a baffled expression. She knew about Baronne, but Geri on the field was only Level 4, so it was impossible to Synchro Summon Baronne.
Was he going easy on her? That thought flashed through her mind, but when she saw Youye's increasingly strange expression, she knew that was definitely not it.
So what was it? For a moment, the only answer she could think of was that Youye had another terrifying generic Level 5 Synchro boss monster that had yet to appear!
Her confused expression gradually turned wary.
Unlike her wariness, Wang Cheng and Luo Hao were extremely excited. Another new generic Level 5 Synchro card was about to be born, and they would be its witnesses!
As for why they assumed it was a new Level 5 Synchro, the reason was simple. In the card pool they knew, there were no useful Level 5 Synchros at this point in time.

The three were taken aback. Youye had not placed any summoning restriction on himself, so it was not as though he could not Link Summon. Still, generally speaking, who would use a Tuner monster as Link Material?

After appearing, her calm, unruffled eyes swept over the surroundings before settling on Youye for several seconds, as though she were thinking about something. Then she silently looked forward.
Everyone looked at the girl on the field. She was clearly just a ninja-like girl, a Link-2, and logically speaking, a low-level monster.
Yet everyone present instinctively felt that she was strong—very strong. They had to treat her with their full attention, or they would suffer a terrible loss!
For a moment, the three humans and one spirit all began considering her effect.
Then Youye's voice interrupted their thoughts.
"Saya's first effect: If this card is Link Summoned using any one of a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Monster as material, you can target one card on either player's field or in either player's Graveyard; banish that card. This turn, I place myself under the restriction that I cannot Direct Attack!"
"Geri is a Fusion Monster, so I can target and banish one card. I target your Hieratic Seal of the Ash Blossom!"
After Youye declared the effect, Saya threw her kunai at Hieratic Seal of the Ash Blossom. Hieratic Seal of the Ash Blossom tried to resist, but the instant the kunai touched him, he vanished from the field.
"A Link-2 that is so easy to bring out? Just paying a small price lets it target and banish a card." Luo Hao's eyes were full of shock. After a brief pause, he continued, "And the restriction against Direct Attacks does not affect Runick at all. Runick does not need a Battle Phase, so whether it can Direct Attack or not makes no difference!"
