Background / History

Munin was a Runick Spirit residing at the Hangcheng Inspector Bureau when Sheng Ning arranged for Youye to challenge her for access to the Runick Archetype. Recognized immediately as Wings of Runick - Munin, she became curious about how a human who had never met her possessed knowledge of Runick and other unfamiliar cards. 9

She wagered the Runick Archetype against Youye's Kashtira Deck, offering future access to Runick cards if he won. Youye's use of Dimension Shifter and Kashtira's banishment-recovery effects disrupted her usual strategy, leading to her defeat. 9 10 11

Although she initially hoped Youye would make Runick the core of his future Decks, Munin still transferred an incomplete Runick set to him. During the transfer, she formally declared before the Dueling Rules that the Archetype would aid Youye as long as he did not abandon it. 12

Afterward, she became Youye's Spirit and accompanied him home. Munin had come to the human world largely from boredom: Runick Spirits were so unpopular as opponents that other Spirits often fled rather than duel them. 18

Appearance

Munin is a beautiful female Spirit distinguished by a pair of dark wings. During the Runick transfer ritual, her wings spread behind her as Runick Fountain and the phantoms of other Runick Spirits manifested around her. 12

Personality

Munin is intensely proud of Runick and takes criticism of the Archetype personally. When Youye dismissed the incomplete Runick set as merely sufficient, she immediately argued that even a weakened Runick Deck could reach Grandmaster Rank and defeat some Heaven-tier human duelists. 12

She is curious about unfamiliar cards and strategies, particularly Youye's multi-Archetype Decks. Her curiosity toward Tearlaments, Kashtira, Link Monsters, and Youye's concealed cards repeatedly drives her to ask questions or observe his duels closely. 18 24 73

Despite her pride, Munin is deeply protective of Youye. She considers most Earth-level duelists unable to threaten him and was prepared to force a Duel when a Dark Duelist entered his shop. She also worries that powerful Deck Builds Youye gives away could later become threats to him. 32

Munin is openly affectionate toward Youye and hopes he will reach Earth Level so that they can be together without the risks faced by weaker human-Spirit couples. 43

Munin challenges Youye after learning that he possesses a powerful banishment-focused Deck. She is defeated by Kashtira, but the duel establishes her fascination with Youye's knowledge, adaptability, and unconventional cards. 9 10 11

Becoming Youye's Spirit

Following her loss, Munin transfers the incomplete Runick Archetype to Youye and becomes his responsibility in the human world. She accompanies him home, asks about his Tearlaments strategy, and begins acting as both his companion and a Runick authority. 12 18

Stun Runick Training

Munin becomes Youye's student in Runick strategy after he explains that traditional Runick alone cannot reliably defeat powerful negation boards. Her Self-Runick training rapidly improves her Rank and public reputation. 32 38
