Background

Bloodline limitations and early reform

Before the Gene Seed program, a human's bloodline could cap their future potential regardless of talent or willpower. The first-generation Gene Seed broke this restriction, enabling many previously limited geniuses to improve their bloodlines and emerge as cultivators 253.

Qin Mu subsequently developed a second-generation Gene Seed capable of producing Domain Lord-level bloodlines. The Chaos City Lord regarded widespread Domain Lord bloodlines as a means to reduce the Demon Race's advantage, which stemmed from its numerous royal and imperial bloodlines 253.

Gene Seed Era

The Human Race adopted Qin Mu's bloodline research as the basis of the Human Gene Ascension Plan. Its high-level members supplied rare materials, twelve peak-bloodline Starry Sky Giant Beasts, and access to nine garbage star regions so the Swarm could acquire resources for further research 238 241.

Gene Seed recipients became a major force on the Outer Territory Battlefield. Humans who reached Cosmic-level bloodlines could assume humanoid Starry Sky Giant Beast forms, while evolved World Lords could confront enemies previously beyond their reach 255 256. The Demon Race, Zerg, and Mechanical Race responded by specifically hunting Gene Seed users and attempting to exhaust humanity through attrition 276.

Rise to dominance

The Human Race's partnership with Qin Mu's Swarm offset its weakness in large-scale attrition warfare. Human bases requested Larva Nest fleets for defense, while the Swarm used battlefield resources and Human Race support to reproduce, evolve, and reinforce the front lines 290.

After the Fifth Generation Gene Seed became widespread, Human World Lords could fight Immortals. War Hammer's acquisition of the Clone talent marked the beginning of the Human Race's “Clone Era” 358.

The Human Race defeated the Three Races Alliance with the Swarm's assistance, then absorbed the Zerg Empress and the Zerg Mother Queens as a branch of humanity. The Zerg Empress's defection was decisive in the final battle against the anti-Human coalition 464 487 488.

Following its victories, humanity declared itself the sole overlord of the Original Universe. It established the Slaughter Battlefield to settle territorial disputes among other races, while reserving the right to annihilate factions that defied its authority 510 514.
