After Cult Sorcerer Kyle died, the Genestealers, having lost their unifying authority, chose to withdraw from this processing district. Though they still had several thousand members and several Purestrains holding the line, they clearly no longer wished to fight the Players in a brutal urban battle here.
They had seen no hope of victory even when they had a supreme commander. Now that no one could command anyone else and they were fighting on their own, total annihilation was the only possible outcome. After a brief discussion, the Genestealers chose to retreat.
The Players did not pursue them. After all, they could tell which earned more merit: completing the mission or killing enemies. Once they confirmed there was no longer any large-scale resistance in the area, Robert contacted the Tech-Priest over the radio.
"This is the Death Seekers Company. Can you hear me?"
A burst of static crackled from the other end, followed by a synthesized voice with a metallic echo. "This is the Holy Trinity Forge Workshop. Go ahead."
"We have cleared out the Genestealer cult entrenched in the Holy Trinity Forge Workshop. We are currently advancing toward your location and can already see the black spires you mentioned. There are no other threats along the way, correct?" Robert asked.
The other end of the radio fell silent for a moment, as if conducting some sort of data analysis or verification. A short while later, the synthesized voice spoke again, carrying a barely perceptible note of relief. "No. Come directly over."
The Players accelerated their advance. Before long, an immense and ancient industrial marvel came into view. The Holy Trinity Forge Workshop was less a workshop than a mountain range of steel, composed of countless black spires, massive smokestacks, and tangled pipelines.
