Many years later, Hei Shen would always think back to that distant afternoon when he and the Miners went to see the newcomer.

Back then, Hao Shan was a snow-white world, buried everywhere beneath a layer of hard ice. Everyone had to smash through the ice, pry open the thick frozen earth, and keep digging down for ore. More often than not, the holes they had gone to such pains to dig would be sealed over by snow again overnight.

So everyone was ordered to work in relays. As long as the work never stopped, the mine shafts and tunnels would not freeze shut, and they could keep digging out ore that contained Omnipotence Stone.

The one supervising the area was King Hao Shan, a gigantic golem shaped like a mountain, and he loved going around giving speeches.

He was always telling everyone, "Work harder, all of you, and in the future, promotions, titles, lifelong riches and glory will be just around the corner!"

But no matter how hard the Miners worked, the most they could become were foremen who supervised other Miners.

And a foreman's job was to find fault. He had to find problems, or else the foreman himself was the problem. But if problems kept appearing, that proved the foreman himself also had problems. In short, it was quite a difficult job too.

This was the state of Hao Shan under the rule of the God, Golden Hoop Immortal.

The newcomer Hisoka was brought to Hao Shan wearing an iron hoop, and so became one of the new Miners.

Hisoka carried a wooden table on his back and treated it like a treasure.

If anyone touched his table, he would immediately warn them with a grave expression.
