Lu Yao discovered a strange phenomenon among the Spirit Race.

Whether rulers like dragons or laborers like the Spirit People, they were all surrounded by some kind of information barrier.

Spirit Race civilization was highly dependent on, and integrated with, "Spirit Duke," this Divine Nexus.

No one needed to know too much or learn everything. If there was something they did not understand, they asked Spirit Duke, and Spirit Duke would resolve every request and difficulty raised by any member of the Spirit Race.

They did not need to process complex information. They only needed to accept the answers Spirit Duke provided.

A life like that was undoubtedly fairly easy.

Lu Yao did not know whether this was just his own misconception.

Spirit Duke's existence, whether intentionally or unintentionally, had turned Spirit Race society into scattered sand. Every individual seemed to live in their own independent kingdom, needing only to be cared for and served by the great steward "Spirit Duke," and to summon Spirit People to serve them.

Regarding this question, Red Dragon Daisy said, "Lord Yao, I think that's because of authority levels."

"Every member of the Spirit Race has their own authority rank, and Spirit People, as commoners, are at the very bottom—perhaps it's a little rude to put it that way, but that's what they're called within the Spirit Race. There are higher and lower authority levels among these Spirit People too. Spirit Soldiers, for example, are usually the highest among them. Each individual is ranked according to their labor capability and the work they have accomplished."

"Different ethnic groups have different base rankings as well. There are five tiers and fifteen grades of authority. From high to low, they are Duke, Marquis, Count, Viscount, and Baron, and each tier has First, Second, and Third Class."
