Deep underground digging was difficult, because the Silver Plain faced large-scale tremors that could happen at any time. According to the Yao Clan observation station, those were shocks caused by Electric Vibration Stars falling.

Their scale and intensity were hard to determine. It might be only a single star falling, or it might be hundreds of stars plunging down in a swarm, or even continuous, rain-like impacts that caused long-lasting tremors and waves across the ground.

Once the vibrations reached underground, they would collapse the mine tunnels.

To maintain the passages and shafts and reduce the risk of cave-ins, support structures had to be built inside the tunnels. But that not only required consuming large amounts of external materials, it also meant spending more time on construction inside the shafts, making it impossible to produce results quickly.

Yao Yuan Shou did not have that energy right now.

It had to obtain enough Electric Vibration Star Fossils in a short time in exchange for a steady stream of aid from the Yao Clan Civilization. How much support and how many resources it could receive were directly tied to how fast it dug up stars.
