Dumbledore was already over a hundred years old. Though the wisdom and magical power he displayed before others had never diminished, if it came down to seeing who would live longer between him and Voldemort, even those who believed in Dumbledore would not dare bet on his victory.
Of course, no one believed the war between the two sides would be decided in such a shallow, joking manner.
But if Voldemort was despicable enough—no, in fact, this had always been Voldemort's strategy.
He had consistently avoided meeting Dumbledore, merely using his Death Eaters to plan terrorist acts from the shadows and throw the wizarding world into chaos.
It was hard not to worry that Voldemort intended to wear Dumbledore down until he died.
But Amosta's appearance had completely reversed this decline.
Apart from his unfathomable magical attainments, Amosta had always displayed wisdom no less than Dumbledore's. More importantly, he was nearly half a century younger than Voldemort.
With him around, even if the wizarding world inevitably fell into a period of turmoil, people would always retain a measure of hope.
Order in the wizarding world would eventually return to normal, rather than plunging completely into the abyss of darkness once Dumbledore became too old to carry on.
Sirius had pointed out the most important point, putting Arthur and Kingsley considerably at ease in the cramped little office.
However, some questions still remained.
"But what exactly does Amosta intend to do?"
Arthur stared worriedly at a disassembled diagram of a Muggle car engine he had pinned to the wall opposite him.
"He publicly attacked the Minister for Magic in The Daily Prophet. You know Minister Fudge's temperament—he is absolutely not a magnanimous wizard."
