Twenty minutes later, Harry and Hermione, having each returned to their dormitories to investigate, came back to the common room.
Their roommates were all waiting for them there.
"How was it, Harry, Hermione?"
This was not the first time Harry's dormitory had been targeted by a thief. His roommates were fairly calm, but Neville asked with a grim expression,
"Did you find that anything was missing?"
Fury seemed ready to burst from Harry's green eyes. His fists were clenched tight, and the corners of his mouth twisted with rage.
Out of caution, Harry did not answer Neville's question. He looked at Hermione.
For the same reason, Hermione said nothing either, merely exchanging looks with Harry.
"Someone sneaked into the girls' dormitory to steal things!"
Parvati seemed frightened by the matter. Clutching the collar of her angora-red sweater with both hands, she shrieked sharply,
"We have to tell Professor McGonagall, and Professor Breen too! He's in charge of student safety!"
Even without Parvati's reminder, Harry had already decided to do that. But there was another problem now.
"Has anyone seen Ron and Lavender?"
Struggling to control his emotions, Harry tightened his lips and looked at the trustworthy friends around him.
"Ron and Lavender?"
Neville frowned deeply as he thought for a moment. After confirming that he had not seen either of them since returning, his brow remained furrowed.
"They... Harry, don't tell me you think those two..."
It was complicated to explain. Under normal circumstances, Harry would not have minded saying more, but he had no heart to explain now.
His worry for Ron outweighed his anger over what had been stolen. Harry looked at Hermione.
