Hermione looked a little hesitant. It was not that she was unwilling to share the "honor," but was it really all right to bring unrelated people in to open and read Professor Lockhart's private letters without his permission?

Still, considering that just she and Professor Breen were expected to deal with an entire week's worth of fan mail sent to the famous Professor Lockhart, renowned throughout Europe's wizarding world, in little more than half a day, it truly was a very difficult task.

Thinking of this, Hermione slowly turned to look at Harry and Ron. As expected, one was pretending to fix his glasses, while the other suddenly began studying an old Shooting Star broom whose twigs had nearly all fallen off. Neither responded to Hermione's gaze.

The Gryffindor team members who saw this all covered their mouths and snickered. Fred and George wore the most exaggerated expressions, but before they could come up with a joke, a glance from Professor Breen instantly made them behave.

The Weasley twins knew better than anyone that the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor was not a particularly forgiving man.

"If there really isn't anyone, then forget it—"

Amosta gave Hermione an understanding smile, then left directly.

"You two have to come with me to Professor Lockhart's office tomorrow, or you can forget about ever using my homework for reference again!"

"Give us a break, Hermione! I never want to touch that work again in my life!" / "I'd rather polish Filch's trophy room again!"

Already dozens of feet away, Amosta vaguely heard Hermione's imperious voice mingling with the wails of the two young wizards amid the gusting wind.
