Each class at Hogwarts lasted an hour and twenty minutes. After a twenty-minute break, Ravenclaw and Gryffindor would have Charms Class together.
The Charms professor was Ravenclaw's Head of House—Philius Flitwick.
According to the information provided by the Weasley Twins, Professor Flitwick was highly skilled.
Though he stood barely over a meter tall, he had been a dueling champion in his youth and was an accomplished wizard.
It was said that he had an excellent temperament: gentle, humorous, and not overly strict with students. He was just naturally a little sensitive—if you mentioned height or goblin ancestry in front of him, he would become deeply upset.
Although he had already endured the torment of two worthless professors in Professor Binns and Professor Quirrell, Andy was still full of anticipation for this Charms Class.
The Charms classroom, like the Defense Against the Dark Arts Class classroom, was on the third floor of the castle.
When Andy and Hermione arrived, the classroom was still empty.
They found seats near the front, set their textbooks on the desks, and claimed their places.
"What exactly are you planning with Malfoy?"
Since there was no one else in the classroom, Hermione decided to bring up something more private. "Andy, I heard from my roommates that the Malfoy Family and..."
She stopped halfway through.
Leaning closer to Andy, she lowered her voice. "His family is connected to the Mysterious Man."
"Connected to who?"
Andy looked utterly baffled. "The Malfoy Family is connected to Voldemort? How did I not know that?"
Then he gave her an odd look. "You didn't grow up hearing stories about Voldemort, so why are you afraid to say his name too?"
"I was thinking of you!"
Hermione rolled her eyes at Andy. "If you ask me, Voldemort has been dead for ten years. Why are all of you still so afraid of him? You don't even dare say his name?"
"Voldemort put magic on his own name. Whenever someone said it aloud, he could sense it."
Andy explained, "During the last wizarding war, plenty of people brought disaster upon themselves because of that. Gradually, everyone became afraid to say his name."
"As for children... they were influenced by the adults."
Hermione nodded in understanding. "So that's how it is!"
After explaining Voldemort's situation, Andy could not help feeling a headache coming on.
He had not expected the Malfoy Family to be connected to Voldemort.
Were they Death Eaters who had escaped judgment?
Or was it... just casual gossip from those Little Witches? If Old Malfoy was a Death Eater...
Huh? It did not seem like it would change anything.
Andy thought about it. Even if Old Malfoy was a Death Eater, it would not stop him from getting Quirrell thrown out.
After all, he did not know Voldemort had taken over Quirrell's mind.
Besides, this was also a test.
If Old Malfoy did not dare get rid of Quirrell, that would prove he not only knew Voldemort was still alive, but was even secretly serving him.
"You still haven't answered me."
Hermione pressed, "What exactly are you and Malfoy planning?"
"Oh, that?"
Andy explained, "Old Malfoy is a Hogwarts School Board Member. I asked Malfoy to gather some students' suggestions, then hand them over to Old Malfoy."
Hermione said somewhat indignantly, "Why don't you just make the suggestion directly to Headmaster Dumbledore?"
Andy shrugged. "Without Headmaster Dumbledore's approval, Quirrell could not have become a Hogwarts professor."
"Complaining to the headmaster is useless."
"I'm going to write Headmaster Dumbledore a letter of suggestion. If he agrees to replace the professor, you have to stop." Hermione clearly admired Dumbledore. She did not want to see Old Malfoy making things difficult for him.
"Okay!" Andy readily agreed.
If Dumbledore could dismiss Quirrell early, that would naturally be even better.
The fundamental reason Andy was doing all this was simply because he wanted to study properly.
Was there anything wrong with studying properly? If the Four Founders of Hogwarts knew about this, they would probably climb out of their coffins in relief and teach Andy personally!
Time passed second by second, and more students gradually filled the classroom.
As ten forty approached, the classroom door suddenly opened, and a large group of Gryffindor Little Wizards poured in.
Their Wizard Robes were filthy, their faces smeared with dirt, and an indescribable strange smell clung to them.
It smelled very much like Dungbombs.
Andy asked curiously, "Ron, did you... get into a fight with Slytherin?"
He could not help making that guess.
Every Little Wizard from Gryffindor looked utterly disheveled. No matter how he looked at it, this was not an ordinary situation.
"Don't mention it."
Ron said irritably, "We just finished Herbology Class. We spent the whole lesson fertilizing those herbs, and Seamus even blew up the bucket holding the fertilizer."
Andy: "?"
Andy could understand the first part, but the second... how exactly had Seamus managed to blow up a fertilizer bucket? Andy glanced around and asked, "Where's Neville?"
"He's in the School Infirmary," Harry explained.
Andy: "..."
So after one Herbology Class, they had not only blown up a fertilizer bucket and sent one Little Wizard to the School Infirmary, but everyone else was covered in filth from head to toe...
What a bunch of talents! I thought you had gotten into a group brawl with Slytherin!
"Say, Hogwarts Herbology Class... those herbs are the kind of herbs I'm thinking of, right?" Andy asked cautiously.
Harry sighed. "They were different from the ones I'd seen before, but they should be the kind you mean. We just had a little accident."
"That's good!" Andy sighed in relief.
Hermione also sighed in relief.
Thankfully, she had listened to Andy and decided to join Ravenclaw during the Sorting. Otherwise, she would have become part of Gryffindor.
That would have been terrifying!
Charms Class began soon afterward.
Professor Flitwick stood atop a tall stool so that all the Little Wizards in the classroom could see him.
His gaze swept around the room.
"Originally, we should begin with the most basic charms. But looking at all of you... I've decided to teach you a spell that you can use right now."
The Little Wizards in the classroom looked utterly miserable.
Not to mention the Gryffindor Little Wizards, even the Ravenclaw Little Wizards carried the smell of garlic.
If Flitwick did not do something soon, he felt that he might faint.
"All right, who knows the incantation for the Cleaning Spell? And what does it do?" Flitwick asked.
Hermione raised her arm high, then turned to look at Andy.
Andy blinked. He did not have a habit of answering questions in class.
If Professor Flitwick had asked, "Does anyone have anything they don't understand?", then Andy would definitely have raised his hand.
