Shisui suddenly felt Kagetsu's body tremble twice on his back, followed by a cough. Overjoyed, he immediately slowed his pace.
"Kagetsu!"
What entered Kagetsu's field of vision was not Shisui's face, close at hand, but the face of a woman blurred by tears and streaked with snot.
"You're too close, Anko!" Kagetsu looked at Anko, who was practically pressing herself against him, tears and snot on her face nearly about to smear onto his. He tilted his head slightly and put some distance between them.
Shisui said nothing, but he could hear the exhaustion and weakness in Kagetsu's voice. Clearly, the technique he had used earlier had drained him tremendously.
"We've already returned to the Land of Fire and are heading for the nearest border defense station. Perhaps we'll see Senior Minato there."
Shisui only spoke after Anko and Kagetsu had finished their usual bickering.
"That's good!" Kagetsu said.
"Your body temperature keeps rising." Shisui suddenly noticed something was wrong. Kagetsu's temperature, as he lay on Shisui's back, was continuously climbing.
"There was a small accident." Kagetsu coughed twice more. His face was terribly pale, yet he still wore a smile.
"This mission was far too dangerous! It wasn't a B-rank Mission at all! Once we return to the village, I'll make Orochimaru Sensei change its rank!"
Thinking of the battles and enemies they had faced over the past few days, Anko gritted her teeth and fumed.
