"Rorschach, it looks like you really like this car. Who would have thought we had the same taste?"
Seeing Rorschach staring fixedly at the Cadillac, Howard Stark could not help laughing from the side.
He even eagerly suggested, "Want to take it for a spin yourself? You know, after dinner, I can let you drive it around and experience it firsthand."
"Really, Mr. Stark?"
"Of course! It's no big deal."
"That would be wonderful. I'm really looking forward to it!"
Rorschach agreed without much hesitation.
It was perfect. He had been wanting to take the opportunity to thoroughly study what was so special about this car.
"Mr. Stark, Mr. Rorschach, the banquet is ready."
At that moment, the loyal butler Jarvis came before the two men and spoke to them.
"Well, Rorschach, let's eat first."
Howard Stark patted Rorschach on the shoulder and led him into his luxurious dining room.
Rorschach looked around and was immediately stunned.
When Jarvis had told him earlier that Howard Stark had prepared a banquet, Rorschach had not really had any concept of what that meant. But seeing it now truly opened his eyes.
The table was packed full of dishes, dazzling enough to make his head spin.
Rorschach could not even name most of the dishes, but there had to be at least twenty or thirty of them.
There was even a whole row of utensils laid out before him!
Well, Rorschach had not been particularly fond of Western food in his previous life, nor had he ever studied it much. He only knew that Western dining came with all sorts of elaborate rules, and different dishes required different utensils.
The sight left Rorschach a little dumbfounded.
He had no idea how to use them!
"Rorschach, I imagine you must be hungry too. Please, help yourself."
After inviting Rorschach to sit, Howard Stark spoke to him from across the table.
Fine!
Since he did not know how to use them, he would simply ignore it.
As long as the utensils felt convenient to use, why bother with all that?
Rorschach casually picked up a set of utensils, completely disregarded all the conventions of Western dining, and began eating and chatting with Howard Stark.
Howard could tell that Rorschach knew absolutely nothing about Western dining etiquette, but the playboy himself had never cared much for rules and regulations.
Besides, Rorschach was clearly no ordinary person, so Howard Stark did not look down on him because of it.
The atmosphere at the table remained quite pleasant.
"By the way, Rorschach, forgive my intrusion, but may I ask how you obtained such extraordinary strength?"
Seeing that the time was right, Howard Stark finally asked the question he had long wanted to ask.
Peggy Carter was not the only one concerned about that question. Howard Stark himself was extremely curious as well.
After all, the predecessor of S.H.I.E.L.D., the Strategic Scientific Reserve, had originally been established to research super soldiers.
Howard Stark had been one of its leading researchers.
"Agent Carter asked me that before. I already answered her. I was born with it." Rorschach shrugged.
"Okay, Rorschach, if you don't want to say, I understand. It is indeed your personal privacy." Howard Stark assumed Rorschach was deliberately withholding the truth. "I was being rather presumptuous."
Rorschach did not bother explaining further to Howard Stark.
He had told the truth anyway. Whether others believed him or not had nothing to do with him.
After that, Howard Stark did not press the matter any further and instead turned to other topics.
There was no need to mention Howard Stark's knowledge, which far surpassed that of ordinary people. Rorschach naturally did not possess such deep learning, but as a reincarnator, his breadth of vision was nothing to scoff at either.
The two got along rather well in conversation.
"Rorschach, I truly didn't expect you to be so impressive." Howard Stark could not help showing admiration.
Though Rorschach was young, his insights on certain matters were more penetrating and forward-looking than those of many industry elites.
He was a talent!
Overall, both host and guest enjoyed the banquet.
After eating and drinking their fill, they sat in the reception room for a while. Then Howard Stark took Rorschach back to the garage once more.
As promised, he handed the keys to the Cadillac over to Rorschach.
"Rorschach, let me confirm once again. You do have a driver's license, okay?"
Just as Rorschach was about to start the car, Howard Stark could not help asking again from the side.
"Don't worry, Mr. Stark. I'm an experienced driver!"
Rorschach smiled lightly, started the car with practiced ease, expertly drove it out of the garage, and onto the road outside.
Since Rorschach had known how to drive in his previous life, he had become fully proficient again after only a few attempts following his reincarnation.
He had driven Charles's car before, so his driving skills were not a problem.
Screech!
Screech!
An incredibly cool red convertible supercar sped wildly down the streets.
Luxury cars and handsome men were attractive in any era, and along the way, countless burning gazes turned toward him.
If Rorschach had wanted to, he could have easily picked up a beautiful woman.
But right now...
Rorschach had no such thoughts. Nearly all his attention was focused on the car.
After driving through two or three streets in succession, Rorschach still had not discovered anything unusual about it.
After examining it, he found that it was nothing more than an ordinary, utterly unremarkable car.
Rorschach fell into deep thought.
Could the situation with this car be like in Fast & Furious 5? Nothing looked unusual on the surface, but something was actually hidden inside?
However, after getting out and carefully inspecting the car inside and out, he still found nothing unusual.
When he entered the system to ask what exactly the Special Energy Source was, the aloof system remained as unresponsive as ever.
That gave Rorschach a rather frustrating headache.
He could not just return the car without gaining anything, could he?
Rorschach was definitely unwilling to accept that.
It seemed he would have to find a way to keep this car in his hands for a longer time.
Or even make the car his outright.
In other words, he would buy it from Howard Stark.
Rorschach had already prepared himself to take the car apart.
Of course, he did not currently have any money, but with his abilities, making money would actually be quite easy.
Buying it was not the problem.
But considering that he and Howard Stark had only just met, and that Howard Stark had clearly shown a great deal of affection for this car, it would be a very difficult request to make.
Still, he could only grit his teeth and give it a try.
