Raven Sect Saintess

Yin Nanyu was selected in childhood to fuse with the Raven Spirit, a process in which hundreds of female infants could die without guaranteeing a successful candidate. The Raven Spirit grants access to the Raven Immortal’s faith power and the ability to create Raven Sect members, but it continually burns the bearer’s lifespan; Yin Nanyu’s silver hair is evidence of this cost. 123

As Saintess, she stood directly below the Raven Master in the sect hierarchy. Collapse of the Capital Branch

After the Great Xia court destroyed the Raven Sect’s Capital stronghold, Yin Nanyu led the surviving members south. Their escape route was compromised, and they were surrounded by the Dragon Blood Iron Cavalry and Cold-Faced Halberdiers. 107

She used a Raven Immortal statue’s accumulated faith to force her strength toward the Golden Core level, reanimating fallen cultists and holding off pursuit. Demon Prison Escape

Yin Nanyu awoke in Black Wind Cave’s Demon Prison and initially attempted suicide rather than remain imprisoned as food or a slave. Zhao Huai stopped her, took away her poison pill, and told her to “Live well,” using his real voice. 109

She later escaped alongside other captives when the prison’s defenses weakened. Armed with a black-bladed dagger, she killed demon guards and witnessed Zhao Huai’s Great Yan Destiny manifest in the sky. 113 114

Service to Great Yan

After realizing Zhao Huai was both her rescuer and the Great Yan Crown Prince, Yin Nanyu concealed her identity by claiming to be the sole survivor of the Flying Bird Sect. She joined his side while privately intending to use Great Yan’s revival to weaken Great Xia and eventually seize national fortune for the Raven Sect. 120 123

Her intelligence made her indispensable to the restoration movement. Zhao Huai named her his right-hand strategist, and she convinced Great Yan’s officers that immediate coronation was the proper signal for an uprising. 141 She also managed practical affairs such as refugee resettlement in Nanyu Prefecture. 145

The Raven Master later judged Yin Nanyu to have failed the sect’s plans and imprisoned her in the Raven Sect headquarters, stripping her of her Saintess status. A red-clad confidant reminded her that she alone was truly chosen by the Raven Immortal and proposed replacing the Raven Master’s faction. Yin Nanyu accepted immediately. 179

After escaping, she fled across the Western Continent to the Diluo Dynasty.
