Background
Humanity discovered Dark Domains in 2761, the first year of the Martial Dao era, after reaching the threshold of space technology. Dark matter and dark energy were found to exist around every planet as immensely dense Source Energy Matter and Cosmic Source Energy, forming a corresponding Dark Domain. 1
Ordinary matter accounts for roughly 4.7% of the universe, while dark matter and dark energy account for approximately 27% and 68.3%. The matter and energy associated with a planet's Dark Domain can exceed twenty times the planet's own mass. 1
Cosmic Source Energy can be absorbed and refined by living beings to strengthen their bodies and advance their cultivation. Dark Domains therefore provide exceptional cultivation resources, but are also inhabited by Source Energy Fierce Beasts, native creatures, and, in some regions, hostile alien races. 1 13
A Dark Domain is described as a hollow spatial layer around its corresponding celestial body: the main-universe body is the “core,” while the Dark Domain is the hidden “peel.” Though they are one entity from a four-dimensional perspective, they occupy different spatial anchor points and must be crossed through Star Gates. 27

Source Beasts and Bio-Beasts
Dark Domains contain dangerous Source Energy Fierce Beasts and native lifeforms. Ancient Earth species such as Wolf Lizard Beasts, Tyrannosaurus Rexes, and Titanoboas entered Earth's Dark Domain in the distant past and became Source Energy Fierce Beasts. 1 29
- Bio-Beasts are weakened training organisms cloned from the genetic maps of ancient Source Energy Fierce Beasts. They are used to prepare students for future Dark Domain combat. 28 29

Alien Races
Some alien races driven from the Tian Yuan Galaxy concealed themselves in its Dark Domains after the war against the Sirius Civilization. They defend these territories against humanity and may open spatial rifts to raid the main universe. 13
Humanity has reduced the effectiveness of such attacks by fortifying planets with technology and deploying mechs, but alien Divine Treasury Realm experts can still prevent a Level Two Dark Domain from being fully cleared. 13 14
