Background / History
Xiao Wu is a transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Soft Bone Rabbit who conceals her soul beast identity while living among human Soul Masters. Her identity makes the Soul Master Competition particularly frightening to her; the prospect of exposure evokes the terror she associates with a future Heavenly Tribulation 5.
Before joining Shrek Academy, Xiao Wu attended Nuoding Academy and sought to become the leader of the work-study student dormitory. The diary describes her as fiery and self-directed before meeting Tang San, but says she quickly came to regard him as the person she trusted most and accompanied him home after roughly a year at the academy 99.
Tang San gave her the Immortal Herb Lovesick Heartbreak Red, which can conceal her soul beast aura. When the Diary Instance reveals that Tang San knew her identity and that she would eventually sacrifice herself, Xiao Wu initially chooses to trust him over the diary’s unverified revelations, but becomes deeply shaken by the predicted sacrifice 6.
She later confesses her identity to Liu Erlong, whom she calls “Mom Erlong.” Liu Erlong accepts her and promises continued protection, prompting an emotional response from Xiao Wu 112.
Appearance
Xiao Wu is associated with a distinctive Scorpion Tail Braid, which Wei Feng identifies as significant in his diary 20.
- Her transformed soul beast form is a Soft Bone Rabbit 112.
- Her martial soul manifests as a Soft Bone Rabbit phantom 286.
- Her third spirit skill produces a pink phantom capable of teleporting behind an opponent 286.
Personality

The diary’s revelations steadily undermine that trust, particularly its descriptions of her future sacrifice and role in Tang San’s ascent 6 198.
She is mischievous and capable of calculated interference. She secretly follows Wei Feng and Ning Rongrong, pretends to have sprained her ankle to disrupt their outing, and later plans to spend time with Wei Feng both to verify the diary and to provoke Tang San 19 20 27.
As events progress, Xiao Wu becomes more assertive and independent. She rejects Tang San’s claim to authority over her private life, refuses to provide information about Wei Feng, and is prepared to fight rather than be forcibly taken away 286. She also shows strategic initiative by seeking alliances through the group chat and invoking Gu Yuena’s name 222.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Soul Master Competition and Tang San Rift
Xiao Wu fears that the competition could expose her soul beast identity. After learning through the Diary Instance that Tang San knew her secret, she angrily confronts him, then briefly convinces herself she has misunderstood him 5 6. Their disagreements continue over the competition lineup, with Liu Erlong intervening on Xiao Wu’s behalf 10.

Learning Her Future Fate
The Diary Instance reveals that Xiao Wu is destined to sacrifice herself for Tang San and that this sacrifice is central to his eventual dual-god path. It also states that she later becomes a god by serving as the Asura Sword’s sheath, breaking the usual rule that soul beasts cannot become gods 6 198.

She participates in group chats, attempts to recruit Shui Bing’er and Dugu Yan into an alliance, and invokes Gu Yuena’s name in doing so 206 222.
