The rumors about Kakashi that had spread through the village some time ago had left them uneasy as well. After all, they feared that if it was Kakashi today, they might be next tomorrow. Moreover, most of these Anbu had received Kakashi's favors, and over half of them had attended the banquet Kakashi hosted before. So, it was hardly surprising that they chose to stand by and do nothing now.
Meanwhile, after receiving their orders, the Nara, Yamanaka, and Akimichi Clans urgently gathered the shinobi within their families. But before the Three Clans' shinobi could even set foot on Konoha's streets, a squad of shinobi and a squad of Ninja Dogs headed toward the Three Clans' Clan Territory.
Inuzuka Gaku and Aburame Shibi, who led the group, looked at Nara Shikaku, Yamanaka Inoichi, and Akimichi Choza with smiles on their faces.
Nara Shikaku sighed softly and asked, "May I ask what business brings the two of you and your clansmen to the Clan Territory of our Ino-Shika-Cho?"
"Clan Head Nara, that sounds rather distant. We merely came to pay a visit; there is no other intention," Inuzuka Gaku said with a smile.
"Just here to pay a visit?" Yamanaka Inoichi frowned slightly as he looked at the other side's fully armed Ninja Dogs.
"Of course." Inuzuka Gaku said, "It is just that it seems we came at a bad time. It is so late, yet the three Clan Heads are leading their clansmen somewhere. Could it be that you do not know the village is under lockdown tonight?"
"Our Three Clans are acting under the orders of the Third Hokage and heading into the village to maintain order. Please make way for us," Nara Shikaku said gravely.
"However, the orders we received were that the village is under lockdown tonight.
