Mu Yue strengthened Ninshu and Konoha as rival villages formed an alliance to stop Sōsuke, then entered Six Paths City’s tournament amid a plot to attack him. As the preliminaries unfolded, Mu Yue and Hiruzen Sarutobi uncovered Danzō’s crimes and agreed to expose them.

• Mu Yue developed Five Dragons Extinction, advanced his Sage Mode training, and sent Obito to the Hidden Mist Village exchange, where Obito and his companions impressed the hosts.
• Konoha and Ninshu negotiated an exchange of Puppet Prosthesis technology, while Obito stepped down as captain and Mu Yue advanced his Breathing and Sage Arts training.
• Mu Yue and Minato Namikaze implemented Ninja Academy reforms, Mu Yue strengthened Ninshu’s chakra technology, and Naruto was born without a Nine-Tails rampage.
• At Ninshu’s annual assembly, Sōsuke approved expansion into the Land of Rivers and announced a tournament whose champion could challenge him.
• The Five Great Villages formed an alliance against Ninshu and devised a plan to use the tournament to create an opportunity to attack Sōsuke, with the other Kage arranging to lose to the Third Raikage.
• Konoha’s delegation entered the tournament in Six Paths City, where Hiruzen Sarutobi defeated Asuma and Obito, Kakashi, Nohara Rin, and Might Guy advanced through their matches.
• Mu Yue showed Hiruzen Sarutobi records of Danzō’s brutal Root training, illegal Hashirama Cells experiments, and attempt to target Sōsuke’s disciple’s Rinnegan, and Hiruzen agreed to expose Danzō’s crimes.

The tournament crowned the Third Raikage, but the Four Great Ninja Villages used the gathering to attack Konoha and Ninshu. Mu Yue revealed himself as the Fourth Hokage, defeated the allied forces, and secured the Kage’s agreement to unite against Kaguya Otsutsuki’s return.

• Might Guy, Shisui, Kakashi, Nagato, and Obito won their tournament matches, with Obito defeating Rasa and Nagato defeating the Third Mizukage.
• The Third Raikage defeated Might Guy and Ōnoki, while Hiruzen Sarutobi defeated Kakashi and Nagato to reach the finals.
• The Four Great Ninja Villages attacked Konoha and Ninshu after the tournament, and Mu Yue revealed that he was the Fourth Hokage and Ninshu’s master.
• Hiruzen refused to join the other Kage against Mu Yue, who sent the Ninshu and Konoha forces away and fought the allied villages alone.
• Mu Yue defeated the Kage, their forces, and three Jinchuriki, then healed the defeated ninja and imprisoned the four Kage for their war crimes.
• Mu Yue told Hiruzen that Ninshu would remain allied with Konoha but would not join it, and that he would eventually step down as Hokage.

Mu Yue led a team from his world into Naruto’s world to help fight the Fourth Great Ninja War, where they confronted Uchiha Madara and the masked Obito. Obito and Kakashi defeated the masked Obito in the Kamui Dimension, but he escaped and prepared to become the Ten-Tails’ Jinchuriki.

• Mu Yue established the Ninja World Alliance, resigned as Hokage in favor of Minato, and began reforms and lectures that strengthened ninja education and training.
• Mu Yue mastered all seven Chakra Nature Transformations, awakened Six Paths Mode, and traveled with his students to Naruto’s world after learning that Uchiha Madara had started the war.
• Sasori, Jiraiya, Orochimaru, Kakuzu, Might Guy, and the others joined battles across the front, while Naruto and Shisui confronted Edo Nagato and Itachi and helped free Itachi from Kabuto’s control.
• Naruto’s group fought White Mask Obito and the Edo Jinchuriki, and Obito’s Shadow Clone broke the mask to reveal the other world’s Obito.
• Uchiha Madara joined the battle, and Obito, Shisui, Naruto, Kakashi, Nagato, and their allies fought him while Adult Kakashi rescued Rin from the Kamui Dimension.
• Obito and Kakashi fused with the Potara Earrings as Kakamaru and helped damage Madara’s Susanoo, but Madara and Masked Obito brought forth the Ten-Tails and attacked the Allied Shinobi Forces.
• Obito learned from the Hokage that Itachi had massacred the Uchiha Clan under pressure to protect Sasuke and Konoha, then used Flying Thunder God to reach the battlefield and protect Rin.
• Obito and Adult Kakashi fought Masked Obito in the Kamui Dimension, and Obito destroyed his heart with Sage Art: Flame Fist before Masked Obito escaped to become the Ten-Tails’ Jinchuriki.

After Mu Yue sealed Kaguya and the revived shinobi returned to Konoha, Sasuke and Boruto arrived from another time. They learned how this world differed from theirs, but Otsutsuki Urashiki’s arrival forced them into a fight and a pursuit through a portal.

• Might Guy’s Eighth Gate and the combined attacks of Naruto, Obito, Minato Namikaze, and Senju Tobirama wounded Six Paths Obito, who released the Tailed Beasts before Black Zetsu used him to revive Uchiha Madara.
• Uchiha Madara became the Ten-Tails’ Jinchuriki, but Mu Yue returned with power from the Sage of Six Paths and protected the gathered shinobi from the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
• Black Zetsu revived Kaguya Otsutsuki through Madara, and Mu Yue fought her across several dimensions before sealing her and ending the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
• Six Paths Obito used Rinne Rebirth to revive the fallen shinobi and died after telling Obito to become Hokage, while Minato Namikaze reunited with Naruto on his seventeenth birthday.
• The revived shinobi returned to Konoha, where Senju Tobirama confronted the village elders over Shimura Danzō’s abuses and Mu Yue taught Kaguya about the Karma Seal.
• After a space-time disturbance interrupted the group’s return journey, Sasuke and Boruto arrived in Konoha’s past, where Sasuke met young Uchiha Itachi and Boruto met Kushina.
• Sasuke and Boruto learned from Minato that Mu Yue had been the Fourth Hokage and that this world’s history differed from theirs, while Sasuke secretly confirmed Minato’s account.
• Otsutsuki Urashiki broke into the Hokage’s Office seeking Karasuki, fought Sasuke, and pursued Boruto through a portal after Minato teleported him away.
