Faced with Otsutsuki Momoshiki's threat, Boruto abruptly assumed a fighting stance—then woke up.
"So it was a dream."
Boruto let out a long breath and lay back down, but he could no longer fall asleep.
"Damn Otsutsuki Momoshiki."
Boruto cursed inwardly as he looked toward the window hidden behind the curtains.
The off-white linen-blend curtains were rather thin and could not completely block out the sunlight. A sudden breeze lifted one corner, letting sunlight slip in for a moment.
It was clearly already broad daylight.
Probably because he had not slept well last night, he had failed to get up early today.
Boruto did not think that was his fault. Anyone who learned that a powerful enemy capable of replacing them lived inside their body would be unable to stay calm.
Besides, he was only twelve years old.
After getting up and dressing, Boruto noticed a breakfast and a note on the table.
"Free to do as you please. Just do not leave Konoha."
Though the note was unsigned, it was undoubtedly left by Sasuke.
"Why is Sasuke-sensei busy every day? He is not off having fun without me, is he?"
Boruto casually complained, then began eating the breakfast Sasuke had bought.
This time, however, Boruto had wronged Sasuke. Rather than teaching Uchiha Itachi today, Sasuke was searching through ancient records in Konoha's library, trying to find information related to the Karma Seal.
After breakfast, Boruto left the hotel and began wandering around aimlessly.
He had originally planned to train hard and grow stronger, but the harder he trained now, the faster Otsutsuki Momoshiki would replace him. Training could only be put aside for
