Background / History

Wang Ming attended Tianmang High School with Ling Yuan. At the Contract Beast summoning ceremony, he mistakes Ling Yuan's silence for disappointment over receiving an ordinary Contract Beast and promises to look after him. The two subsequently develop a brotherly friendship, with Wang Ming assisting Ling Yuan with practical matters such as obtaining a license and seeking resources for Ling Yuan's game project 6 19 22.

His father, Wang Jing, initially keeps the family's history hidden. After Wang Ming returns from helping to slay Apollo, Wang Jing reveals that he is the heir of the Capital's Wang Family and that Wang Ming is its legitimate descendant and prospective future head 243. Wang Ming later learns that his mother is Song Siyu and that Song Lin is his maternal aunt, making him connected to the Song Family of Jinling as well 433.

Wang Ming's Contract Beast evolves into the Void Flame King after Wang Jing feeds it a crystal. The evolved beast is a Phantom Beast Species and a mid-stage form of the Sacred Ancient Flame Dragon, ranked No. 46 among Phantom Beasts 231 232.

Personality

Wang Ming is outspoken, competitive, and eager to display his achievements. He frequently overestimates himself after gaining new power, though he can accept Ling Yuan's criticism and recognizes his own shortcomings after difficult battles 233 372.

Despite his bravado, he is initially frightened by threats beyond his experience, including Apollo's divine pressure. He nevertheless chooses to confront danger when given the chance to prove himself, such as volunteering to attack the Sea Demon God and using a Skill Card against a Ninth Order Demon Emperor 237 250 469.

He values freedom and initially hopes to avoid the obligations of becoming Wang Family patriarch. His preferred solution to the clan competition is to become an Elder, which he sees as a stable position with minimal responsibility 432 433. He responds by proposing that they form a team for the National University Contract Competition 231 233.

Apollo Godslaying

Ling Yuan brings Wang Ming to confront Apollo and makes him the apparent commander of Belleronus during the battle. Although Ling Yuan secretly directs Belleronus, Wang Ming participates in defeating Apollo and returns home with greatly increased solar and Curse Power 237 238 243.

Atlantis and Training

Wang Ming tests his new power against the Sea Demon God using the Morning Star of Primordial Times. He later requests Ling Yuan's help to become stronger, then undergoes harsh training in ancient city ruins under Karna and Xia Annan 250 339 350.

National University Contract Competition

As a member of Tianyan Team, Wang Ming makes a conspicuous opening display with the Sun God Wheel and Sunlight Spear. He defeats Cui Heng after an extended fire-versus-water duel, then overpowers Chen Ke and the Rock Qilin with his Flame Spear 356 357 367 369 382.

Wang Family Clan Competition
