Background / History

Born into the Schariac Family, Cecilia was raised under Schicksal’s expectations rather than her own wishes. At age six, she was sent to a New Zealand Honkai disaster zone for search-and-rescue work; witnessing survivors beg the Saintess for help impressed upon her the responsibility attached to her title. She later chose to meet that responsibility by becoming a Valkyrie, even while longing for an ordinary life outside Schicksal’s control 112.

In 1990, the fourteen-year-old Cecilia was dispatched from a Middle East training base to Siberia. She killed Rageel, the King-class Honkai Beast responsible for a forest fire, in a single shot, but returned from the mission exhausted and isolated despite the admiration of the other Valkyries 28 30. During the return trip, she accepted an invitation to the Super Dimensional Group Chat, where she sought friendship and found people willing to treat her as family 28 29.

Ling Yuan later revealed that she was fated to die during the Second Herrscher incident in 2000, ultimately through Otto’s Honkai-energy fission bomb. To avert both Cecilia’s death and Sirin’s abandonment, he urged her to find Sirin and form a genuine bond with her rather than kill her. Cecilia refused to involve Otto out of fear that he would experiment on the child, and instead turned to Theresa for help. She later located Sirin and placed her under the Schariac Family’s protection 30 31 125 213.

When she met Kiana, Cecilia recognized the loneliness behind Kiana’s uncertainty over being a clone and a Herrscher. Drawing on her friendship with Theresa, an artificial human, Cecilia argued that artificial humans and clones have their own thoughts and identities; she offered Kiana maternal guidance and encouraged her to return to the people waiting for her 107 112.

During a later visit to Schicksal, seventeen years had passed for Otto while only a day had passed for Cecilia. She appeared younger and unable to remember Siegfried or much of her former life, but still declined Otto’s invitation to return to Schicksal. When Otto tested her, Cecilia accepted the challenge and fought him with the Black Abyss White Flower, later wielding its Overlimit form with Ling Yuan’s assistance 129 130.

Cecilia subsequently helped Ling Yuan disrupt Otto’s Babylon plans, accompanied him to the Moon, and returned to Schicksal to keep Otto uncertain about her loyalties. She also brought Sirin and Sirin’s mother to the prematurely established St. Freya Academy 212 213 276. She later moved into Ling Yuan’s home, where she became a welcomed member of the household 430.

Cecilia is a silver-haired, blue-eyed young woman whose presence is repeatedly compared to moonlight or a white lily. Her elegance is as notable as her battlefield reputation, though she is often visibly shy when given personal attention 112 230 430.

Though burdened by her role as Schicksal’s Saintess and strongest Valkyrie, she continues to smile politely around others and places herself at the front of dangerous missions 28 112. Her desire for a normal life makes the group chat especially meaningful to her; she quickly embraces the possibility of friendship with people beyond Schicksal 29 30.

Her compassion extends to people Schicksal treats as abnormalities or tools. Her bond with Theresa taught her that artificial humans are distinct individuals, and this belief shapes her refusal to discard clones or experimental subjects as lesser lives 107. She is also capable of practical deception and resolve, choosing to mislead Otto when necessary rather than let his suspicions control her actions 276 281.
