Introduction to Ancient Runes
Introduction to Alchemy
Before long, Black had moved down every book that interested him.
He even planned to buy books for subjects where he had yet to awaken any talent.
Books on Potions, Herbology, and the like.
After all... who knew what rewards the next Treasure Chest might contain?
The clerk beside him watched Black with a beaming smile.
It couldn't be helped. He had already gone back and forth three or four times to carry books for him.
Each time, there were five or six books!
This was a major customer!
When the clerk returned to the counter carrying several more books,
Black was still planning to browse some more.
"Hmm..."
Black looked toward a spot near the ceiling.
There seemed to be a book with a red cover there.
But as he stared at that book,
he tripped again because he wasn't watching where he was going.
"Ah!"
"Uh! Sorry..."
It was a little girl with two braids.
She had been crouching down, looking at the books on the bottom shelf.
So Black, who had been looking up, hadn't noticed her at all.
Then his leg caught on her.
The little girl looked up at Black.
Though Black hadn't done it on purpose,
the pain still brought tears to her eyes.
After all, when this bad guy had tripped,
he had accidentally stepped on her foot.
"Ding! Aggrieved emotion detected." "Ding! Congratulations, Host. You have obtained one Silver Treasure Chest."
"Uh..."
Black hurriedly helped the little girl to her feet.
"I'm terribly sorry! I was looking at the book up there just now."
"So I didn't notice where I was stepping..."
Perhaps because Black's apology seemed sincere,
the little girl finally shook her head.
She said it was alright.
"To apologize, let me treat you to an ice cream! There's a dessert shop right across from the bookstore!"
Black said cheerfully.
Who knew whether he wanted to make it up to her,
or simply wanted some himself.
"N-No need!"
The little girl seemed extremely shy.
After only speaking two sentences to Black,
the tips of her ears had already turned red.
Without looking at Black again,
she hugged her books and quickly walked out of the shop.
She had even nearly forgotten to pay...
Because She Was Too Shy, a Treasure Chest Dropped?
"Send this portion to Godric's Hollow. I'll take these books with me."
At the bookstore counter,
Black quickly settled the bill.
Since Black had bought so many books,
the bookstore even gave him a Suitcase to carry them in.
Though it wasn't particularly spacious,
it could still hold quite a few books.
For large shops like these,
Undetectable Extension Charms within a certain limit
were still permitted.
Like the money pouches produced by Gringotts.
Black carried the Suitcase
and walked out of the bookstore.
By then, the sky had already darkened.
The number of pedestrians on the street was gradually dwindling as well.
Black first went to Ollivander's Wand Shop
to complete today's data measurements.
Cassandra had interrupted him that afternoon,
so he hadn't done the measurements yet.
Afterward, he headed toward the entrance to Diagon Alley,
where The Leaky Cauldron was located.
When he arrived at that brick wall again,
Black stopped in his tracks.
He suddenly realized something very serious.
Black knew how to get from The Leaky Cauldron to Diagon Alley.
But...
how was he supposed to get back to The Leaky Cauldron from Diagon Alley?
Hiss...
It seemed the original story never mentioned it?
"Alright..."
Black decided to try knocking first with a finger infused with magic.
After all, he still didn't have a Wand.
If it didn't work,
he could just go back and ask Mr. Ollivander.
Suddenly,
a small figure appeared beside him.
"Huh? It's you? We meet again!"
Black said happily.
Wasn't this the little girl he had met in the bookstore earlier?
She definitely knew how to get in!
The little girl timidly raised her head.
When she saw that it was Black,
her face reddened slightly again.
"H-Hello..."
she said softly.
"Um... I'm really sorry about what happened in the bookstore earlier."
"It... it's alright. It was just an accident."
The little girl looked elsewhere,
as though she didn't dare meet Black's eyes.
"Ah! You're such a nice person!"
"I... I'm not..."
Hearing the boy praise her,
the little girl shyly lowered her head.
"My name is Black Green."
Black extended his right hand toward the little girl.
"I... I'm Hannah, Hannah Abbott."
Hannah lightly touched Black's hand before quickly pulling hers back.
This time, even her neck had turned red.
Iron Hannah?!
Black nearly cried out in surprise.
Luckily, he held it in.
It would have been rather rude
to give someone a nickname during their very first introduction.
"Nice to meet you! Can I call you Hannah?"
"Ah... mm..."
Hannah was clearly not very good at refusing people.
Of course, with such a friendly, familiar boy.
