Thanos wore golden armor and a helmet. Tall and powerfully built, he resembled a colossal god overlooking the galaxy. He sat upon a floating throne, his hands resting on its armrests, his back against its support. His expression was calm, yet his tranquil, placid eyes held profound sorrow.
His gaze left Xandar and turned, darkly sorrowful, toward his right hand.
Resting on the armrest of the floating throne, that right hand wore a gold, steel-like Infinity Gauntlet.
Thanos had acquired the Infinity Gauntlet after He-El and Odin's battle. In secret, he had provoked and aided the ambitious figures of the Nine Realms in challenging Asgard's rule. While Asgard had been occupied suppressing the turmoil throughout the Nine Realms, Thanos invaded the dwarven lands of Vanaheim, sealed off Vanaheim, and forced the Dwarf King to forge him an Infinity Gauntlet capable of holding the Infinity Stones.
Thanos had been plotting for the Infinity Stones for a very long time.
The first Stone he obtained was the Mind Stone, acquired with the help of his two daughters, Nebula and Gamora. That had been long ago.
