"Thanos, your time to die has come!"
Star-Lord Peter Quill rushed to the command room entrance. The moment he saw Thanos, rage surged through him, and he roared as he fired his modified blaster at Thanos.
The Guardians of the Galaxy—Star-Lord Peter Quill, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Mantis—had arrived a step later than Thor and Drax the Destroyer, but they were no less useful than the two who had been sent flying.
After putting on their personal flight devices, they headed for the command room. While rushing there, Rocket Raccoon used his familiarity with the ship to locate the mother ship's engines along their route, casually dropping several high-powered bombs that blasted holes through the third and fourth auxiliary engines.
Star-Lord Peter Quill's blaster fired energy bolts even larger and more violent than those on Xandar. A continuous barrage of explosions and flames swallowed Thanos within the command room.
"Peter, don't rush in. He won't die that easily," Rocket Raccoon shouted as he found cover outside the command room and hid himself.
Rocket Raccoon did not believe Thanos could be hit by Star-Lord's blaster so easily, much less injured so readily.
Not far away, Groot swung several branches of his arms, skewering several mother ship soldiers as he swept through the corridor leading to the command room.
Mantis thought Rocket Raccoon was right and chimed in, "He is very dark, very sad, and very powerful."
Star-Lord Peter Quill had not actually been blinded by rage. He shot them a dissatisfied look. "Do you think I'd let anger cloud my judgment? No, I'm not that kind of person."
"Oh, Quill, I'm so happy for you. You've grown," Mantis said with innocent delight, as though she had suddenly realized that a child in her family had grown up, leaving her deeply gratified
