"What?" Mandrak was startled. His bloodshot eyes stared at He-El from within his mummified face.
He could only see that Kolon Novo's body, now occupied by He-El, had once been tainted by cosmic operating principles different from those he knew. He could see nothing more.
But Mandrak believed that Kolon Novo had surely been lucky enough to encounter the wild Source Universe he had discovered, which was why he had been tainted by information from different cosmic operating principles.
Mandrak was not the only one who believed so. The Monitors responsible for Level Three Source Universes all believed it as well. Although Mamadal Novo, the Level Four chief supervisor, had some doubts, he ultimately came to the same conclusion.
"The one I discovered wasn't a Source Universe? Impossible!" Mandrak's thoughts fell into slight chaos. Back then, he had been utterly certain it was a Source Universe. Otherwise, he would not have hurriedly begun merging Parallel Universes in an attempt to force that wild Source Universe out.
He was certain he had not been mistaken!
"Impossible! He carries cosmic operating principles different from every Source Universe under our charge. He encountered a Source Universe! Mamadal Novo, don't try to deceive me. I discovered it first!"
Mandrak's malice surged forward like crashing waves, making all three of them feel as though dark clouds from the eternal horizon were spreading toward them, about to blot out the sky above their heads.
"Hmph! You're falling into that obsession again, Mandrak!" The Level Four chief supervisor snorted coldly. His entire body shone as the light of his mind radiated outward, resisting Mandrak's tidal malice.
"Damn it, that damned obsessive streak of yours. If you had discussed it with us instead of rushing into merging Parallel Universes, you wouldn't have ended up in this miserable state."
