He-El and Bulma's spaceship departed Planet Namek, carrying He-El, Bulma, and Dandy as it drifted aimlessly through space.

At least they had Namek's star map, allowing them to explore several nearby planets and satisfy He-El and Bulma's interstellar sightseeing.

He-El and Bulma's spaceship headed toward the nearest planet. It was a dead world, its land a barren desert, its surface split by crisscrossing fissures. The planetary core within had gone out, with no energy flowing through it, yet after extinguishing, the core had formed into a mass of iron.

He-El and Bulma stayed on this planet for two days. Seeing that the remaining stellar iron from its core had some unusual properties, He-El cut it apart and took the purest portion from its center, storing it in a Hoi-Poi Capsule warehouse. Bulma also used some of the stellar iron to smelt and redesign the spaceship's armor. Then they left the dead planet for the next one.

He-El, Bulma, and Dandy traveled among the stars, visiting several planets marked by the Namekians. Most had died long ago, but one was a newborn planet, with an environment similar to Earth during the age of dinosaurs. Its oxygen levels were high, and it was highly suitable for Namekians.

He-El considered it for a moment. If Planet Namek were destroyed, the Namekians could move to this planet and live there.

Moreover, this planet had been recorded on the Namekians' star map. Perhaps the several recorded planets had all once been considered as places for the Namekians to settle, only for various reasons to prevent them from doing so, until they ultimately chose the best one: Planet Namek.

He-El guessed that this was likely the planet the Namekians had moved to in the original story after Frieza destroyed Planet Namek.
