Edward Was Right

Edward was right. He-El indeed possessed the body of a god, yet he still retained the emotions and mindset of an ordinary person.

It could be seen from the many things He-El could not stand.

The extermination of eight million criminals, shared expenses, paternity tests, human trafficking, and so on all proved that He-El felt revulsion and found certain things difficult to accept.

Even when He-El ruled Earth and gave its civilians prosperous, decent lives, it came from empathy, carrying a trace of sorrow for ordinary Kryptonian civilians who had died because of the upper class.

Therefore, Edward concluded that He-El could be manipulated, influenced by emotions, and controlled through emotions.

All because of He-El's intense feelings.

Edward was right.

At the same time, the fact that He-El controlled a body capable of withstanding nuclear bombs, yet had not lost himself to endless desires for slaughter, lust, and power, while still maintaining such a mindset, was also the most terrifying thing.

Golden Triangle, Experimental Site No. 1.

Tachai Village was built along the Mekong River. The scenery was beautiful, with forests in the distance, towering mountains, valleys, and sheer cliffs forming vast transportation blind spots that few outsiders could enter.

Far beyond the village, a vast sea of poppies swayed in vivid red, bewitching and beautiful.

Life inside the village was peaceful and tranquil. The sentries squinted and yawned as they stood watch from high ground, AK47s slung over their backs during their long, lonely, dreary shifts.

He-El suddenly descended from the sky. Everywhere within his sight were underground slaves, organs, and gold.

"Pride, envy, wrath, sloth, greed, gluttony, lust."

Before the people in the village could react, He-El pointed at seven nearby people and used them as experimental subjects.

He directly implanted intense personalities embodying the Seven Deadly Sins into their minds.

The lustful one immediately grabbed a cow beside him, his eyes crazed as he began taking off his pants.

The gluttonous one rushed out of the village and plunged face-first into the sea of poppies.

The greedy one mindlessly charged into the nearest house to seize gold.

The slothful one curled up in a corner, closed his eyes, and covered his ears.

The wrathful one raised an AK47 and began firing at He-El, roaring furiously, "What did you do to us? I'll kill you!"

The envious one, his eyes full of hatred, pulled out a Glock and shot the wrathful one dead before turning and running.

The prideful one puffed out his chest, arrogance filling his eyes, as though he alone reigned supreme over heaven and earth. "Who are you? How dare you enter Tachai alone!"

"He's that alien!"

"Kill him! He's here to conquer us!"

"I don't believe he's invulnerable!"

"Fire, fire!!!"

In an instant, gunfire threw Tachai Village into chaos. This village of nearly twenty thousand people possessed formidable military strength, and armed squads began rushing over, triggering even greater disorder.

He-El did not stop moving. Compared to their slow-motion steps, Mind Control took effect with a single thought. The people around him who fired at him began displaying all kinds of behaviors.

After forcefully implanting the Seven Deadly Sins, He-El implanted the Seven Virtues into the armed squads rushing over in panic: justice, tolerance, Loyalty, temperance, generosity, hope, and perseverance.

The armed squads immediately changed.

The righteous believed themselves to be just and fired at He-El to defend their homeland.

The tolerant ones put down their AK47s and spread their arms like The Father. "We should talk this over peacefully."

The loyal ones had been implanted with Loyalty toward He-El. At that moment, they suddenly turned on their comrades and opened fire.

Temperance, generosity, hope, and perseverance were all shot to the ground by the loyal ones.

"This is too wasteful. People should not be killed by worthless bullets."

He-El thought this was very bad, but he did not stop it.

He merely strolled through the chaotic village. Madness surrounded him—humans whose thoughts had been thrown into disorder, babbling crazily and reaching out in unwilling delirium.

Like a god, he walked alone through this grimy, dark tableau of a fallen human world.

He-El implanted various personalities, thoughts, and ideas one by one, while also severing their thoughts. He experimented with time and tested numerous psychic abilities based on thought.

He then severed every notion, idea, thought, and memory in their minds, forming separate compartments. Unable to form continuous trains of thought, they descended into frenzied self-harm.

Mind Severance.

Disjointed thoughts clashed with newly implanted ideas in utterly incoherent conflict, creating a powerful sense of discord that drove them insane.

He-El further guided the thoughts he had implanted in them, causing them to form new personalities.

Dual Personality, Triple Personality, Quadruple Personality, Octuple Personality, Sextuple Personality, Thirty-two Personality. He-El watched with considerable surprise as one person developed 1,321 personalities.

Every personality truly possessed independent thought. They were independently thinking personalities existing beneath the primary personality, crazed and grotesque.

In the end, that person's brain overloaded and could not endure it. His synapses burned out, his head caught fire, and he died collapsed on the ground.

Personality Creation.

It created different personalities beneath the mind of an existing living being.

This was not purely an offensive or controlling ability.

Instead, He-El classified it as an auxiliary skill.

The created personalities could instead serve as assistants, filling gaps, supporting the primary personality in studying, working, conducting research, and more. They could take turns improving the self, existing like secondary brains.

However, He-El would not create secondary personalities for himself. Once a secondary personality usurped authority, it could even seize the body, consciousness, and memories, becoming the primary personality.

Such an invisible danger was unavoidable when personalities were created within oneself.

He-El shook his head. It was a pity that he had not obtained the result he wanted.

What he had always most wanted to create was a Thought Imprint higher than the survival imprint of living beings, but it was not simple. He vaguely felt that he was still far away, yet also only a thread away. The feeling made him frown deeply.

Of course, the various psychic experiments here had not been without gains. They confirmed many of his ideas about psychic abilities and gave him a practical understanding of their limitations.

Mist Corridor.

He-El casually used another psychic application. At once, the target's eyes rolled back, and he collapsed to the ground. The deeply ingrained scene in his mind trapped his consciousness in an endlessly repeating corridor until death.

He-El had originally named it Fear Corridor, but the constructed corridor did not have to consist solely of fearful memories. It could also contain happiness, sorrow, resentment, anger, and more.

He-El clenched his large hand in the air. The next moment, every crazed and sleeping person in Tachai Village had their thoughts extinguished, their brain synapses burned out, and all of them fell dead.

After three months of research and contemplation while basking in the sun aboard the International Space Station, combined with the current human experiments, his psychic abilities had become extremely mature. It would be difficult for any further mutations to occur.

He-El swept his gaze around. In the beautiful village, wisps of smoke rose from several places. Chickens crowed, dogs panicked, and no human voices remained.

Before leaving, He-El considered it for a moment and spread his psychic ability throughout the entire village once more.

He shot into the sky and left. Even the sounds of crowing chickens and panicked dogs vanished.

This was a nation in the desert. Its largest city had only five million people. It was poor and backward, ignorant and feudal. Even people of different genders had yet to be liberated; they had to cover their entire bodies even when going outside.

The old ways in people's hearts and the prejudices locked away within them were the hardest things to break.

This was a nation unwilling to submit. Its people lived like pigs and dogs, with only 3% of households even owning televisions, while the upper class wallowed in extravagance—golden toilets, plump fingers covered in glittering gemstone rings—all displaying humanity's oppression of humanity.

He-El stepped onto the most luxurious palace here. Its vast hall, crystal chandeliers, golden splendor, antique historical paintings, and tigers and leopards kept in the rear courtyard all displayed the superiority, power, and luxury of its owners.

"Stop! Who goes there?"

As He-El entered the palace, armed guards appeared, pointing their guns at him and shouting angrily.

"Light."

He-El spoke softly. His voice rippled outward, and the first group of soldiers surrounding him began heating up from within. Flames burst from their bodies as they burned themselves to death.

He was not satisfied. He had said light, but what appeared was firelight.

Perhaps that was how the soldiers' minds understood it.

More troops surged forward.

"Air," He-El said softly again.

Some soldiers received the suggestion. Their red blood cells began absorbing air, and their entire bodies filled with air, swelling into round balls before exploding.

"Earth."

Some soldiers' joints stiffened as they suddenly developed ossification. Every cell in their bodies hardened like stone, leaving them rigidly upright and unable to move as even their vision turned dark.

Other soldiers had hair that grew longer and longer. Hair sprouted from every pore across their bodies, strangling them beneath the growth until they became black balls of hair. The hair balls continued growing until their flesh no longer had nourishment to provide.

"Stars."

He-El asked in puzzlement, wondering how they would interpret it.

The result was that they gripped their own heads and forcibly kept spinning them. Even after death, their hands continued turning their heads until their nerve reflexes weakened.

"Life."

The remaining soldiers burst into tears, kissed their hands and feet, put down their weapons, and left.

He-El was somewhat satisfied with this skill and strolled deeper into the palace.

It was simply like God's whisper.

God whispering in your ear.

The target's body was affected by its own mind, influencing its genes and causing unpredictable mutations.

"No! No!"

"I have money! Whatever you want, I can give it to you."

"My wife, money, power, wealth—I can give you all of it!"

"No~~~~~~~"

With a wave of his hand, he physically shook the pampered, soft-skinned politician, bloated into a lump, into molecules and erased him.

He was the last person who intended to resist.

There were no longer any people or forces openly wishing to resist or flee.

He-El slowly floated upward and looked around. Beneath the endless desert dust in the distance stood rows of flat yellow mud houses. Crowds wrapped tightly in headscarves emerged and saw He-El hovering above the palace, falling to their knees in devout prayer.

Just as He-El was about to shoot into the sky and leave,

a psychic force began leaping from person to person throughout the city. Each leap drew forth a faint psychic force.

Like a beam of light, it jumped into the minds of people throughout the city one by one, as nimble as a rabbit repeatedly springing across mirrors. It gathered the psychic power drawn from tens of millions of people, and amid the sand-filled sky, He-El vaguely sensed Edward's face condensing from psychic energy.

"Edward Yorton, you truly are the most outstanding human on Earth!"
