"Nick, I want you to find a secret location, one that only you know about, and keep the Mind Scepter there," He-El said calmly.

He and Nick Fury walked slowly toward the overpass leading to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s island, like two old friends chatting in their spare time. Only after confirming there was nothing unusual nearby did they begin speaking quietly.

Nick Fury was slightly taken aback by He-El's words. He glanced up at him, his gaze deepening and his brows furrowing as he asked thoughtfully and hesitantly,

"Why?"

After the alien invasion battle in New York, Ebony Maw and Ebony Maw had been detained by S.H.I.E.L.D. under strict guard. The Mind Scepter in Ebony Maw's possession had been sent directly to He-El's Manta Ray Mothership after He-El defeated him, where it was being examined and researched in preparation for creating a body for Vivian.

No one else had asked many questions.

There was no need to think about it. Everyone knew the Mind Scepter was in the hands of He-El, the victor.

Loki had already demonstrated that this weapon, the Mind Scepter, possessed power enough to rule humanity on Earth. No one failed to fear it, or desire it.

No place would truly be safe, because the Mind Scepter held the power to rule the world and would only invite covetous eyes.

Yet in the hands of He-El, the strongest man in the world—whose wealth, authority, military power, and reputation were all unmatched—it could be said to be safest and most secure.

Anyone who wanted it could not defeat He-El. Whether in wealth, power, reputation, or strength, He-El had no weakness.

Nick Fury could not understand why He-El wanted to entrust the Mind Scepter to him.

To be honest, Nick Fury did not believe S.H.I.E.L.D. could safeguard the Mind Scepter completely.
