Background

Yu Xiaogang is Yu Yuanzhen's son and a direct descendant of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. His inherited Martial Soul underwent a severe malignant mutation into Luoshanpao, leaving him unable to break through Rank 30 for much of his life. The mutation drove him away from martial cultivation and toward Martial Soul theory; he left the clan roughly twenty years before returning. 9 13 56 315

In his youth, he entered Martial Soul Hall seeking a cure for his mutation. There, he and the future Pope Bibi Dong studied and cultivated together. Bibi Dong later recalled helping him research a solution, only for Yu Xiaogang to disappear after the secret-chamber incident that changed her life. She also identifies much of the knowledge behind his theories as material derived from her and earlier Martial Soul Hall sages. 13 14

At the Myriad Realms Auction Pavilion, Yu Xiaogang attempted to offer his “Ten Core Competencies of Martial Souls” as valuable knowledge. Su Mu publicly challenged the contradiction between Yu Xiaogang's principle of “no useless Martial Souls” and his own stagnant cultivation, undermining his reputation and leaving him unable to meet the auction's minimum requirements. 13 14

He served as an instructor at Shrek Academy and styled himself as the Golden Iron Triangle's “Wisdom Horn.” His confidence suffered after Dai Mubai's shattered Soul Ring could not be replaced despite Yu Xiaogang's assurances; he later claimed he had only offered hope because Dai could not endure the truth. 70 80 155

Seeking a solution to Luoshanpao's mutation, Yu Xiaogang reunited with Yu Yuanzhen and Yu Luomian. He attempted to secure the Blue Silver Emperor Soul Beast for his own advancement and relied heavily on his father's standing and clan resources. 108 109

Xue Qinghe had Yu Xiaogang arrested for investigation, dismissing the elder token Yu Xiaogang used to invoke Martial Soul Hall's authority. During his imprisonment, he was castrated under Xue Qinghe's order, leaving him physically and mentally devastated after his release. 172 208

The Auction Pavilion later offered him the “A Choice of Fate” mission: cultivate the Sunflower Manual to overcome his Soul Power restriction or abandon cultivation. His relationship with Tang San collapsed after Yu Xiaogang demanded that Tang San share the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record with the entire Shrek team. Flender, Oscar, and Ma Hongjun sided with Tang San, and Yu Xiaogang was told to step back from teaching at Shrek Academy. 299 308

After Tang Hao rejected his appeal for support, Yu Xiaogang returned to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan with Liu Erlong. Though initially mistaken for an impostor because of Luoshanpao, he was accepted back by Yu Yuanzhen and began pursuing clan resources and auction treasures to strengthen himself. 309 315 317

Yu Xiaogang is a slightly thin, ordinary-looking middle-aged man. At the time of his first auction appearance, he was described as around forty to fifty years old. 13
