Bibi Dong fell in love with Yu Xiaogang despite his limited strength as a Soul Master. At the time, she respected and admired her teacher, Qian Xunji. He sexually assaulted her to force her to remain in Spirit Hall, then threatened to kill Yu Xiaogang unless she ended their relationship 366.

The assault became the source of her enduring hatred toward Qian Xunji and the Angel lineage. Her daughter, Qian Renxue, repeatedly reminded her of Qian Xunji, leaving Bibi Dong unable to separate her maternal feelings from her revulsion toward the father 251 366.

Bibi Dong later killed Qian Xunji. Nevertheless, she used the claim of avenging her teacher to win support and consolidate her authority as Pope.
