Taking half a day off + progress summary
I was seriously stuck today, so I'm sorting out my Train of Thought.
When I first conceived this book, the idea actually grew out of Faya's game in the second part of Abyssal Solitude. Back then, I wanted to use the moon as a base, so I wrote down my first spark of inspiration:
Guanghan Province.
This was one of my inspiration notes. Whenever I thought of something before bed, I'd jot it down to keep from forgetting it when I woke up. By now, it's gotten very, very long.
A lot of those ideas couldn't actually be used, or were simply cut during revisions.
I never expected that, at this point in the story's structure, Guanghan Province still hadn't appeared.
Next, I'll be working on the latter half of the story, beginning with the Ninth Act, [Seeking the Moon Guanghan].
No need to worry about the story structure, character setup, or pacing, everyone. The story will definitely be complete. Even that Heavenly Court novel where my attempt at writing an ordinary-person protagonist fell flat still had a complete story.
A few external factors won't knock me down. They'll just inevitably affect the quality of my daily writing, and I'll work hard to adjust.
Also, Daoist Wang's Entering and Exiting Demonic State is a gradual shift in temperament. Of course I know this kind of writing isn't very popular, but for the sake of the whole, I still have to go through with it. Otherwise, the demonic cultivator jokes I've been playing with from the beginning won't be able to pay off.
The real creative difficulty right now is figuring out how to smoothly "open up" the map.
I'm going back to ponder it.
