"Ah, the entertainment shows in the Super God world are so boring!"

Lin Xiao propped his legs up on the lab bench, watching the television program on the holographic screen as he let out a bored yawn.

It had been nearly twenty thousand years since he had transmigrated to Super God Academy. Fortunately, he had remained asleep all that time; otherwise, boredom would have killed him long ago.

Whenever Lin Xiao recalled what had happened when he first transmigrated, he felt utterly bewildered.

The bench was enclosed beneath a transparent glass cover, where several mechanical arms worked tirelessly. This was a research project into which he had recently poured his heart and soul.

Its inspiration came from a film he had watched before transmigrating: Lucy.

Lin Xiao was attempting to synthesize a miraculous substance from that movie: CPH4.

It was a key capable of unlocking the evolution of the human brain.

The movie explained CPH4 this way: when a mother became pregnant, she produced a special substance whose explosive power could instantly evolve an egg into a human being. It was the energy source that formed an infant's body.

If an ordinary person consumed it and was lucky enough, they could become a god in one leap from an ordinary human, just like the Black Widow.

Of course, it had merely inspired Lin Xiao. The substance from the movie did not truly exist in reality.

However, through a fortunate coincidence, Lin Xiao had found a similar substitute. His current experiment was meant to purify and adjust that substance.

The substance came from the special blue pendant on his chest.

It was something he had brought with him during transmigration, and Lin Xiao had always believed that the pendant was to blame for sending him here.

The pendant had originally been a blue stone he had picked up from a meteor crater as a child. He had thought it looked beautiful, so he turned it into a pendant and wore it around his neck.

Several alert tones came from the lab bench, jolting the absent-minded Lin Xiao awake.

He sprang to his feet and looked at the line of text displayed on the lab bench's screen.

"The 1,108th experiment was successful. Preset values achieved."

"Hahaha, it actually worked! I'm going to become a god!"

The cover of the lab bench opened, and a mechanical arm held out a syringe filled with azure liquid toward Lin Xiao.

Lin Xiao took the syringe and carefully examined the sapphire-blue liquid within. The carefree grin on his face was replaced by overwhelming delight.

Boom!

A thunderous explosion suddenly erupted outside the laboratory, and the entire facility shook violently.

The red warning lights began flashing. This was an intrusion alert.

At the same time, the laboratory doors were thrown open, and a squad of fully armed soldiers rushed inside.

Hidden doors also appeared throughout the laboratory's passageways, and robots carrying long blades emerged from them one by one.

These robots were almost entirely metal skeletons, black all over, their blood-red electronic eyes glowing with a chilling crimson light.

Though the Terminator Robots were not numerous, their steel bodies feared no ordinary bullets. A single one could match an entire squad of soldiers.

After the final defense was activated, the gunfire outside became even fiercer, audible through the thick metal walls.

Violent explosions erupted from time to time, and the laboratory trembled endlessly with each blast.

"Captain Lu, how long until reinforcements arrive?"

"Under normal circumstances, at least a company should arrive within ten minutes after an attack. But it's been this long and no troops have come. They were probably ambushed on the way. You were right, Major General Lin. Looking at the situation now, going outside would just be suicide."

Lin Xiao began calming himself. He could not put all his eggs in one basket.

Raising the syringe in his hand, Lin Xiao gritted his teeth and plunged it directly into his chest.

If a scientific talent like him were captured, unless he betrayed Huaxia and served the enemy, he would either die or suffer a fate worse than death.

Human brain development, however, had reached ten percent. That was what set humanity apart from animals.

With the help of the mysterious blueprint within the Blue Stone, Lin Xiao's brain development had already reached fifteen percent.

But that had been the limit of Lin Xiao's body. He could no longer improve it further. It was a shackle Heaven had placed upon humanity.

But now, with the miraculous key known as CPH4, Lin Xiao's brain was being developed by this immense energy.

In the blink of an eye, Lin Xiao, who had been struggling on the floor, was nearing the crucial twenty percent threshold.

If he could cross it, he would become something different from ordinary humans, a special existence, and open the path toward becoming a god.

Lin Xiao's sudden collapse and struggle nearly frightened the highly tense Captain Lu out of his wits. He hurried forward to check on him.

When he received no response, Captain Lu's heart clenched, and he shouted for the squad's medic.

"Captain... the major general isn't injured. He shouldn't be in any danger."

The medic examined him for quite some time but could not figure out anything. He was only a medic, not even a proper doctor, and could only perform basic emergency treatment.

The laboratory shook violently once more. This explosion was especially fierce; the enemy was now separated from them by only one wall.

"Build defenses in place!"

"Reinforcements! Reinforcements! Are you coming or not? If you don't get here within ten minutes, prepare to collect our bodies!"

Captain Lu furiously smashed his communicator onto the floor. Relying on others was unreliable; they might as well rely on themselves.

The laboratory's various expensive instruments were piled together, forming a simple trench.

The soldiers stood ready behind the trench. The moment the enemy broke through the door, they would be met with a devastating attack.

And at that moment, Lin Xiao slowly sat up from the floor.

The CPH4 he had developed had succeeded. Not only had it opened God's forbidden zone, it had also solved many of the flaws from the original work.
