The end of March brought another holiday. Since Easter fell on the thirty-first, they had two weeks off.
During this break, students could once again choose to go home or remain at school.
This time, nearly all of Ted's friends stayed behind.
Compared with the more grand Christmas, Easter was not nearly as important. There was no need to go home for a family reunion.
Hermione was even less likely to go home—during the last holiday, she had missed the whole Ravenclaw Chamber affair. She had regretted it terribly.

There were quite a lot of students staying at school for this break. Judging by the number of people at lunch in the Great Hall, there had to be sixty or seventy of them.

On Easter morning, Ted and the others had just returned from investigating a suspected magical secret door—which had actually been a wall disguised as a door—when they ran into a group of people in a first-floor corridor.
They were a group of Slytherins in robes trimmed with green. By the look of them, they were all second- or third-years.
They were surrounding a large, honest-looking boy with a pair of black horns on his head. Their faces were full of obvious mockery, and their mouths were filthy.
