Ted cast "Arcane Brilliance" on himself, then used Ravenclaw's Wisdom (Blue) to raise his Intelligence before beginning to "calculate on his fingers."

More than ten seconds later, he said, "That's right. There are several errors in the symbols of this magic array too! They must be deliberately planted misdirection traps!"

If they simply calculated the numbers represented by those statues and filled them into the blank spaces in the array, they would fall for it.

As for what would happen after they fell for it...

Ted glanced at the Stone Swordsmen and Stone Wizards standing in a row not far away. Those things could not possibly be there just to set the mood, right? But who had set up this trial in the first place?
