Background / History

Langya Auction House began as a top auction house in Langya City, within the Eastern Martial Region’s Savage Martial Land. It was founded by Lin Langya, a descendant of a former Langya Hall core disciple, and operated as a subordinate of Langya Hall. In exchange for its protection, the auction house surrendered nearly eighty percent of its annual revenue as tribute. 1 7

When the Yaoquan Empire offered protection for a ten-percent tax, Lin Langya attempted to register the auction house with the empire. He was ambushed en route; Lin Langya and a protecting elder were killed, while more than thirty powerful guards were killed or injured. The attack crippled the auction house’s standing, triggered an internal struggle for control, and left it exposed to provocations from rival forces. 1

Lin Shu inherited the house after his father’s death. He purged elders and senior personnel who challenged his authority, then used the arrival of three hundred Title Douluo guards to restore the house’s security and credibility. 3 6

The house’s conflict with Langya Hall escalated when its envoys arrived to demand tribute and investigate a mysterious item. Lin Shu’s subordinates crippled the envoys, after which Langya Auction House formally cut ties with Langya Hall. 8 9

After Lin Shu destroyed Langya Hall, its headquarters in Tianding City became the Heavenly Pavilion. Langya Auction House was retained as a core institution under the new organization, with Lin Ye overseeing it. 40
