The Adorably Dopey Souton

The next day.

Giant Gorge City Police Department.

Today was the day Qi Lin left the police department for the Super God Academy. Only Jiang Ming and the chief knew what kind of place the Super God Academy was. The other colleagues only knew that Qi Lin had been recruited by a higher-level department and would be serving in a more advanced position. In the eyes of many colleagues, this was an honorable matter.

Jiang Ming watched as Qi Lin saluted each colleague in farewell. A feeling of reluctance spread among everyone, and many had tears in their eyes. Although Qi Lin's father was the police chief, she had joined through her own genuine abilities. Her skills were among the best of them all. But because Qi Lin was a woman, everyone doted on her. Whenever there was dirty, exhausting work or dangerous cases, the male officers always took the lead, afraid that Qi Lin, the police department's only flower, might be hurt.

"Qi Lin, every police officer in Giant Gorge City is proud of you. Work hard after you get there. Don't disgrace all the police officers of Giant Gorge City... or me, your chief." The police chief, who was also Qi Lin's father, suppressed his reluctance and sorrow as he spoke solemnly.

"Attention, everyone. Salute!"

"Please rest assured, Chief!" Qi Lin's eyes reddened as she returned the salute, looking at everyone with slightly reddened eyes.

Jiang Ming accompanied Qi Lin to the entrance of the police department, wanting to spend a little more time with her.

"Comrade Jiang Ming, I'll be entrusting the chief to you from now on!"

And so, Qi Lin got into the vehicle sent by the Super God Academy to pick her up. Jiang Ming watched her off as the vehicle gradually disappeared from sight, leaving only a faint trail of exhaust to show that a car had just departed from there.

Jiang Ming believed that Liu Chuang, Ge Xiaolun, Zhao Xin, Cheng Yaowen, and Rui Mengmeng were all already on their way to the Super God Academy. They would eventually meet there and become Earth's future protectors, comrades who relied on one another, vanguards who would henceforth keep company with war and death.

Meanwhile, in Egypt, Africa, on the other side of Earth.

Three extraterrestrial visitors descended from the sky, landing before the temple ruins of a pyramid.

The one wearing a silver skull-like mask engraved with special patterns and a black hat was Gravedigger Snow. Two silver-white armored Netherworld warriors followed closely behind him.

"Is this the Crocodile God Soton?" asked the Netherworld warrior in silver-white mechanical armor standing on the right.

Gravedigger Snow stood before the ruined temple and looked at the sphinx relief inside it as memories continued to surface in his mind. "After creating the Netherworld civilization, my god Carl once came here and created a Third Generation Super Warrior. It was later subdued by Angel Chase after a hard battle. The angels reached a reconciliation with my god Carl, and Soton became a sacrifice."

"However, my god Carl used void-like abilities to record all of Soton's genetic data within this temple. Today, my god Carl will help you reforge him. Subdue him while he has only just awakened." As soon as Gravedigger Snow finished speaking, he suddenly thought of something and solemnly said to the two Netherworld warriors:

"But remember this: once he has fought angels, it means he can easily have certain rigid beliefs implanted in him... so we do not know whether he is loyal to Carl."

After Gravedigger Snow finished explaining, he finally prepared to act. He held his hands out in the air, and a bizarre, extremely strange pattern appeared. Snow waved his hands through empty space as though manipulating something.

At this moment, the two Netherworld warriors behind Snow immediately raised their guard, preparing to subdue Souton the instant he appeared.

Suddenly, after Snow's brief operation, a beam of light shot straight into the sky. A humanoid creature rode the beam upward, borrowed force from thin air, and vanished directly. Seeing this, a glint flashed through Snow's eyes, and his pupils kept moving as though he understood something.

Seeing this, the two Netherworld warriors knew that Souton had flown away using that beam of light. They hurriedly issued an order to pursue him.

Gravedigger Snow did not interfere. His task was to revive Souton. As for whether the Taotie could complete the capture mission, that was not part of his task. Whether they caught Souton or not meant nothing to him.

Seeing the Taotie rush off in pursuit, Snow left directly and returned to Death Song Academy to report to Carl.

Giant Gorge City, Chang'an Avenue.

Jiang Ming was out on patrol. After Qi Lin had driven away, he had submitted his resignation to the chief. The chief knew it was because of Qi Lin. After all, he had watched Jiang Ming grow up. After Jiang Ming's parents passed away, Jiang Ming and Qi Lin had been nearly inseparable. To him, Jiang Ming was practically his son-in-law, though deep down, Jiang Ming thought so too.

The chief also knew that after Qi Lin left, Jiang Ming would not have much on his mind. So he readily processed Jiang Ming's resignation, though it would take some time. Still, he was afraid Jiang Ming would brood, so he arranged for Jiang Ming to patrol outside, treating it as a chance to relax and distract himself.

On Chang'an Avenue, Jiang Ming watched the crowds coming and going. There were wandering singers performing by the roadside, while the electronic screens on the street were still broadcasting Approaching Science.

At that moment, Jiang Ming suddenly felt a pressure descending from the sky, as though he had heard something. He looked up and heard wave after wave of rumbling, yet the sky was cloudless for miles. It was rare, beautiful weather, so how could there be thunder?

As he pondered it, the sound suddenly drew closer. A cry of "Ah... ah..." gradually came from the sky, becoming clearer and clearer.

He immediately realized that the rumbling was a sonic boom. Based on the street, the sonic boom, and the suspected creature, Jiang Ming instantly recalled what this was. That adorably dopey big crocodile must have been revived.

Jiang Ming hurriedly sought cover. He could not reveal himself here. This was Chang'an Avenue, with surveillance cameras everywhere. If he did not hide, then without exposing his strength, even if Souton did not attack him, he would likely be attacked by the Taotie warriors who came to capture Souton afterward. After hiding in a corner, Jiang Ming heard, "Ah... ah... bang!" He focused his gaze and saw that it really was that dopey Souton. Falling from the sky was one thing, but he had landed face-first. Jiang Ming gave that landing a 102—one extra point for being dopey, and one extra point for being adorable!
