The non-existent "Merciless Sage" seemed utterly unaware of the obstacles confronting his plan. The two worlds that were meant to merge had been stopped by the Returning Sage Group.
Although the Mad Wisemen he had recruited also possessed extraordinary combat power and wisdom, the moment they faced these "Sages" who had returned from The Darkness, they suffered a complete rout.
One vortex after another atop the Chaos Plane was dispelled by the Sages.
Even the life forms on Origin Star that had been stripped of "compassion" were granted it anew by the Initial Prophet. A new Collective Will was born among them, beginning to interfere with the Source of Eternity and influence Merciless Sage's plan to use it as an engine through the concept of Carrying the Boat and Overturning It.
With all this happening, Merciless Sage should have fallen into panic.

"Eliminating the margin of error and merging Boundless Mystery with the Second Boundless truly cannot fundamentally resolve Annihilation Day... Once the Second Boundless overwrites Boundless Mystery, a Third Boundless will immediately be born. Then there will be a Fourth, a Fifth. I know all of this, Teacher. I have always acted only after learning everything."
"Just like now. It appears that I will fail because I did not anticipate the return of the Sage Group, but the truth is that I did anticipate it."
"When a story reaches its ending, how could Sages who have been foreshadowed for so long fail to return? I began preparing to welcome you long ago."
