A magnificent spectacle
In the dead of night, Qin Ming found himself drawn into the pitch-black fog, uneasy and bewildered. Why was this happening? He walked through the thick fog, and as he went further, the scenery became increasingly indistinct.
Qin Ming noticed that he was in "human form" and not dimmed. At the last moment before leaving, he covered himself with the Torn Cloth.
He brought it in with him.
The piece of cloth was about the size of two palms put together, roughly square in shape, and about the length of a palm.
At this moment, Qin Ming is a consciousness, so size doesn't matter. He can drape a dim piece of cloth over himself, which means that when he manifests, he is only slightly taller than a palm.
It was a strange experience, and his senses were heightened, but Qin Ming's expression remained extremely solemn, unable to muster any smile. In the dead of night, such a situation would have caused most people to panic.
The fog was thick, and the place was incredibly deep, silent, and even deathly still; I had no idea where to go.
Soon, Qin Ming stepped onto the ground, which was black soil, resembling the legendary Netherworld. "Whoosh!"
He heard the crisp sound of chains clashing, and then he saw the chains fly silently toward him.
Qin Ming was slightly startled. Finally, there was movement. What was going on? Were they going to lock him up right away? He quickly moved away, and at the same time, he saw two enormous creatures deep in the mist.
They were all as tall as small hills, and now they opened their terrifying eyes and walked towards this place with heavy steps.
Immediately, Qin Ming saw a huge Ox Fiend with rough horns, its whole body covered in black fur, its four hooves trembling the ground, its eyes golden, and a heavy aura of the underworld surrounding it.
Beside it was a Horse Fiend with hooves as big as millstones, pure white fur, and silver pupils. When it swung its tail, it dispersed a large area of night mist.
"You dare to resist when you see your Superior Envoy?" The Ox Fiend's voice boomed like thunder, echoing through the night fog, and his mountain-sized body approached.
Iron chains were wrapped around its thick horns, connected to a lock. Black Mist billowed from its mouth, like a flash flood. It was the creature that had tried to lock Qin Ming up.
"Where did this demon come from!" Qin Ming had no idea. In the wilderness, hadn't he killed enough old demons? However, he suddenly realized that he had no physical body, only consciousness. How could he possibly fight?
"Huh?!" Suddenly, he realized that he was not a pure consciousness; his Heavenly Light power followed him! Instantly, he realized something.
He practiced the Secret Method that Li Qingyue passed on to him every day, but most of the Consciousness Spirit Light he generated was absorbed by his flesh and blood, and only a small amount could be accumulated.
Meng Xinghai's Martial Granduncle gave him a very thin booklet, which he also practiced diligently. The Divine Wisdom he gained was also absorbed by his flesh and blood, leaving only a small amount behind.
The Heavenly Light Force was born from flesh and blood, and it appears to be intertwined with Consciousness Spirit Light, and Divine Wisdom, entering the black fog together.
Qin Ming clenched his fist slightly, and golden light emanated from it, dispelling a large amount of black energy!
Then, in this form, he activated the Silk Book Method, and his whole body was instantly enveloped in Golden Haze, somewhat resembling the figure standing in the Black Mist behind Lu Zizai and the Six Royals Ancestor.
However, his body was small, far from being comparable to those towering giants. "What's wrong with you?" The enormous Ox Fiend seemed taken aback.
The chains on its head trembled again, and the attached chains emitted five-colored light as they fell directly towards Qin Ming. In this situation, how could Qin Ming possibly sit idly by and wait to die?
Qin Ming swung his arm, feigning a punch, mainly to shake off the tattered Torn Cloth draped over his body.
He had already tested this cloth in his physical form, and it was quite miraculous. He wondered if it could be used in this environment. With a slight activation, the cloth emitted a faint light and instantly shattered the five-colored shackles.
The Horse Fiend's hoof, as big as a millstone, came crashing down, only to be touched by the Torn Cloth. It let out a scream, and white smoke rose from one of its silver hooves, as if it were on fire. It was so frightened that it backed away.
"The Heart Lamp Illumination, the Pure Yang Light... This..." The Ox Fiend was shocked. "The shackles are not on you, which means you have no sins," the Horse Fiend said.
Qin Ming coldly looked at them and said, "Don't tell me you two are Ox-Head and Horse-Face, and this is the Land of No Return." The Ox Fiend said, "Although there are some differences, they are almost the same. We have some misunderstanding with you."
"The Pure Yang Light can enter and exit the darkest realms. We locked up the wrong person this time, and we apologize. You are an important person, you should head towards the Celestial Tower, you should go that way." The Horse Fiend spoke and pointed the way.
Qin Ming threw a punch, sensing they weren't that strong. This time, instead of using the mysterious cloth woven from Exotic Metal, he unleashed his Heavenly Light Force, which actually ignited them both!
"Ah, this isn't Pure Yang yang fire, but why is it so similar?"
The two mountain-sized demons quickly disintegrated and turned to ash.
"Where is this place?" Qin Ming looked around carefully. After burning away the nearby Black Mist, he saw a high platform in the distance and walked over to ask about it.
Although it is made from five-colored stones, it is not dazzling; on the contrary, it is simple and unadorned, as if it has undergone the baptism of endless years and settled into a sense of returning to its true nature.
There were only three characters on the high platform, which Qin Ming did not recognize. They were some kind of extremely ancient script, engraved with the remnants of an old era, but after a spiritual resonance, he already knew their meaning: Ascension Platform.
Qin Ming felt like he'd seen a ghost. This Black Mist World really had everything; did they even use names like this so casually? He had originally wanted to retreat, but now the force pulling him away had disappeared.
However, when he looked back, there were no familiar sights; he couldn't find his way home—it was just an endless, desolate Netherworld.
"Is the same situation deep within the boundless black fog behind Lu Zizai and the Six Royals Ancestor?" Qin Ming frowned; he was completely clueless.
I don't understand the situation here.
He walked towards the Ascension Platform, truly refusing to believe it. He was just a New Life Evolver; could he possibly ascend to the heavens and become Near-Immortal- immortal?
As soon as he stepped onto the five-colored platform, in an instant, auspicious clouds rose up, and hundreds of colorful rays surrounded him.
Then, Qin Ming found himself carrying a large amount of light rain, rising into the sky and flying towards the heavens, as if he were about to enter another world.
Sure enough, it really did rise into the sky. Where was it headed?
As the melodious music played, the heavy night gradually faded away, and he stood on the white clouds, seeing a magnificent palace in the distance.
He looked back, but there was no way back.
"Now that we're here, let's face it calmly!" Qin Ming put on the piece of cloth woven with Exotic Metal and walked towards the cluster of buildings.
Along the way, colorful clouds swirled and Immortal Mist rippled across the water. Then he stepped onto a massive arched bridge built of pure jade, which seemed to be spanning Heavenly Chasm.
In the vast, lake-like marshes of Qiaoxiawan, Golden Lotus bloom in clusters the size of small hills, and beneath the enormous lotus leaves, Flood Dragon seem to swim.
Crossing the jade bridge, Qin Ming arrived at a place that resembled a heavenly palace. Here, magnificent buildings with jade inscriptions and golden bricks and jade tiles stretched as far as the eye could see. Moreover, he saw many women here, dressed in colorful flowing robes, seemingly like the legendary fairies, walking through the air.
A cry rang out from the sky, and golden light shone everywhere. The Golden Crow illuminated all things, and its radiant light was so sacred that Qin Ming, who had lived in the world of night for many years, was mesmerized and stared at it again and again.
"Senior, are you here for the banquet?" A Purple-Clad Woman robes appeared out of thin air, her beauty striking. She smiled and bowed.
"Am I old?" Qin Ming asked.
The Purple-Clad Girl smiled and said, "Those who can come here must have reached the Pure Yang level of Consciousness Spirit Light, and be unafraid of Thunderfire, in order to ascend to the Nine Heavens. Only a senior expert like you could do that."
"Where is this?" Qin Ming asked again.
The Purple-Clad Woman replied solemnly, "This is a Divine Kingdom, and my master is the Demon-Subduing True Martial Lord." Qin Ming nodded and said, "Have your master come to see me."
The Purple-Clad Girl said angrily, "Senior, you've gone too far. Even if you are of noble status, you cannot make such unreasonable demands. If you wish to attend the banquet, please respect the local hosts."
Qin Ming laughed and said, "Acting like this must be exhausting. I'm just a nobody New Life Evolver, what merit do I have to warrant such a grand display? It only proves that you're really Grand Void. Well, that puts my mind at ease, haha..."
The Purple-Clad Girl glared coldly, while in the deepest part of the Jade Towers, in front of the central palace, a colossal figure slowly emerged, growing taller and taller, like a mountain, looking down at Qin Ming.
The other fairies in colorful clothes also took to the air, watching him from a distance.
Some of the banquet guests, sitting in colorful chariots, leaned out and looked this way.
Qin Ming spoke up, "I've already said, I'm just a nobody New Life Evolver, yet you've created such a huge scene, revealing your true colors."
Before the Central Heavenly Palace, the enormous figure was a middle-aged man wearing a crown with swaying beads on his head. He was extremely cold and dignified.
Qin Ming said, "I want to thank you. You went to so much trouble to let me see such a magnificent sight. Living in the world of night, these things are just a luxury for me, something I can only dream about. But today, you helped me construct a false spectacle. Although I soon saw the truth, those beautiful scenes will stay with me for a long time."
"You can see through all of this?" The Purple-Clad Girl thought to herself, "It was all in vain; you've only given us a glimpse."
"Yes." Qin Ming nodded. When he resonated with the emotions, he sensed a strong resentment and saw through the false scene constructed by his Consciousness Spirit Light.
"Let's finish this!" he shouted, not wanting to waste any more time, and genuinely afraid of being caught off guard.
"In the past, in my eyes, let alone New Life Evolver like you, even Outer Saint would be no different from an ant on the ground. How lamentable, how pathetic!" The mountain-like middle-aged man spoke, his eyes flashing with blue light.
At the same time, those fairies and those who attended the banquet were all shattered.
Qin Ming didn't dare to be careless. Even though he knew his opponent was extremely weak and probably couldn't do anything to him, he still went all out.
He activated the Torn Cloth his body, mainly to activate the Remnant Sun Diagram. With a boom, a dazzling golden Great Sun appeared outside his body, illuminating the area ahead.
In the blink of an eye, the Jade Towers were ablaze, and the towers collapsed. The middle-aged man let out a scream, exclaiming in disbelief, "What is that?! How could you have something like that?!"
He retreated rapidly, but he was too weak to dodge. Compared to his prime, his current strength was negligible.
Otherwise, given his status, how could he possibly act with such "ants"? Boom!
The sky collapsed and the earth cracked; all the buildings crumbled and burned, flames spread across the heavens, and even the entire world began to crumble.
There was no magnificent Divine Kingdom here; the reality was nothing but rubble, broken walls, and scorched earth. A large, faint blue centipede stood before them, seemingly helpless.
This is the "Great Heavenly Being" that wants to "subdue" Red Haze City and the surrounding mountains and rivers. Tonight, a wisp of its remnant spirit is stirring up trouble, trying to take revenge on Qin Ming and reclaim its Divine Nature.
Within the ruins stood an altar, emanating a blue mist. Through some ritual, the remnant spirit of the giant butterfly drew Qin Ming's consciousness over.
But now, as the rags Torn Cloth up, the illuminating altar has collapsed.
"How hateful! I should have become a god, but I was ambushed. My last wisp of spirit couldn't even deal with a mere New Life Evolver. I'm going to perish here. Heaven, how unjust you are!" the blue centipede roared.
In truth, it had already been killed by the four masters; this was merely its last wisp of resentment stirring up trouble in this peculiar Black Mist World.
This desolate, ruined land was once its Kingdom of Gods, destroyed and burned by the four great masters.
"You died not because you wanted to expand your God Path, but because you wanted to devour the entire surrounding land and kill all the pillars of the city, it would be an injustice for heaven and earth if you were to become a god." Although Qin Ming had taken a lot of its Divine Nature, he felt no remorse whatsoever.
The last faint blue light exploded, then vanished completely.
Qin Ming searched the area and found that the entire ruins had been emptied. When the four suns suddenly appeared and breached the city, there was no trace of any valuable items left.
Finally, he found a piece of golden scale armor at the collapsed altar.
It was with this object that Da Yu activated the broken altar, thus guiding Qin Ming's consciousness to this area.
Qin Ming was certain that this thing wasn't here before; otherwise, it would have been taken away by the four great masters long ago. Its remnant spirit must have brought it back from elsewhere.
He figured that Tianyu Entertainment wanted to put him on the altar to save his life!
"There are actually writings on them!" Qin Ming discovered that there were tiny characters on the scales. He was overjoyed to have made such a discovery. He felt that such records were definitely not simple!
At that moment, he felt a pulling force, causing him to drift away involuntarily. Qin Ming did not panic; he vaguely sensed that he was about to return to his physical body.
A moment later, he emerged from the thick black fog into the room, and then with a whoosh, disappeared into his body. In the dead of night, he awoke.
Qin Ming sat up abruptly, somewhat doubtful. Was everything he had experienced earlier real? It felt like a dream, but when he looked down, he was certain it wasn't!
Because right there on the bed, there was a palm-sized golden scale, gleaming brightly, engraved with countless tiny characters.
(There's more to come!)
