Meeting the Ancestor of the Silk Book Method
In the dead of night, in the desolate wilderness, Qin Ming felt a chill run down his spine as he fished three snarling, ferocious-looking old men out of Yin Pool.
This was a huge disappointment compared to his expectations!
The so-called "Beauty Fiend" and the legendary Dragon-Shaped Aberrant simply do not exist.
"Mad God?!"
Judging from the appearance of these three people, it's impossible not to make some assumptions: tattered clothes, lifeless gray eyes, and two of them even had half-rotted faces.
Qin Ming had seen that Memory Crystal before. Could these be the three people who disappeared in the black whirlwind?
However, the footage was rather blurry, with only the staggering fourth Mad God clearly discernible.
"The Yin Pool a thousand miles away is connected to the Ancient Kunlun?" Qin Ming guessed that the three old corpses in front of him were probably the three gods.
"Could it really be that person?" He stared at one of the corpses, his heart pounding.
He temporarily put aside all thoughts of the Mad God emerging from the Jade Capital.
The faces of the two men were half-rotten, but the old man in the middle had fresh flesh and blood, only his body was covered with cracks, densely packed, as if he had been pieced together again.
All three were so thin that when their long hair was disheveled in the dark pool, Qin Ming mistook them for tall women.
With a solemn expression, he cautiously blew a breath, instantly revealing the half-covered face of the old man in the middle.
In an instant, he froze; that face was indeed familiar!
At the same time, he felt a surge of Yin Qi spreading towards him from the opposite direction.
Qin Ming involuntarily took two steps back, as if someone was blowing Yin Qi at him.
The surrounding area is desolate and chillingly cold. Fishing for three old corpses at night, facing them alone—what kind of experience is that?
However, Qin Ming seemed oblivious to his surroundings, as if he had forgotten where he was, focusing solely on the corpse in the center.
"The Ancestor?" He was somewhat incredulous, never expecting to "encounter" an old friend here.
Back then, when he fell into the Fourth Forbidden Land, he discovered the Silk Book Method on the wall of that Divine Temple and resonated with the scriptures, and that's when he met this Ancestor!
Silk Book Method has a fatal flaw: practicing it to the extreme will cause your body to explode.
Even the founders of the Dharma were not exempt; some died, some disappeared, which can be said to have been extremely "costly" for the Ancestor.
One of them, whose days were numbered, ventured into forbidden lands and Divine Temple, traveling throughout the Night Mist World in an attempt to resolve the hidden dangers.
"He ultimately went to Jade Capital? Such a tragic end." Qin Ming sighed.
The main problem is that this Ancestor is extremely thin and frail, much like he used to be. He looks like he could be blown away by a gust of wind, and his body is covered in cracks, clearly indicating that he has been blasted open.
Thinking about it carefully, the Fourth Forbidden Land is in Kunling, so it's not entirely surprising that he eventually went to Jade Capital.
However, I've never heard of anyone being able to enter, find the way, and reach the legendary Mythic Land. It can only be said that he is incredibly powerful, almost defying the heavens.
Qin Ming felt heavy-hearted. People at this level who went to Jade Capital never had a good ending.
Ultimately, did the Ancestor escape, or did he encounter an accident along the way?
Knowing the identity of the person in front of him, Qin Ming became even more cautious and did not dare to touch them, for fear of stimulating the residual Divine Power and Immortal Dao Substance within them.
"Could he still be alive?" he wondered.
Are they in a state of suspended animation, their Spirit Domain sealed off, thus preventing them from radiating divine power?
Otherwise, such creatures cannot approach; even the aura leaked from a corpse can turn this desolate mountain into a dead land!
"Ancestor, your death was so tragic. Alas, you don't know, the Silk Scripture lineage has completely declined, even the scriptures have been lost. I am the last remaining descendant. Seeing you reduced to such a state is truly heartbreaking," Qin Ming said.
He sat cross-legged by the Yin Pool, circulating the meaning of the Silk Scripture, as if some inexplicable Daoist aura was blessing him.
Unfortunately, no matter how he tried, the Ancestor remained unmoved.
"Ancestor, please forgive me!" Qin Ming decided to search the corpse. If such a person still had anything left behind, it would surely be priceless.
He even eyed the three men's tattered clothes, wanting to see if they were made of rare or precious materials.
If the Ancestor were alive, he probably wouldn't blame him for wanting to plunder them all, right? Otherwise, even if they were buried underground, they would just return to dust.
Qin Ming carefully searched the area, but when he reached out to the Ancestor, he suddenly froze.
His hand was gripped by a withered old hand, and he immediately felt a chilling coldness.
The Ancestor has risen from the dead!
Qin Ming felt a chill run through him from head to toe, as a cold draft seeped into his body.
"Ancestor, One of Us on your side! I'll burn paper money for you later!"
With a whoosh, the gaunt Ancestor opened his eyes, as if lightning shot straight into the sky, tearing apart the dark firmament!
Qin Ming was shocked. Fortunately, the Ancestor was lying on his back and not facing him; otherwise, that beam of light alone would have pierced him.
As the old man's gaze fell, the night fog dissipated, and the night sky seemed to explode!
But in an instant, his eyes became cloudy and dull, turning a deathly gray; something was clearly wrong.
But he let go and didn't hold on any longer.
"Ancestor..." Qin Ming called out softly. This was far beyond his expectations. In fact, the resurrection of the corpse was a minor matter; the madness was the real danger. If the old man were to become unrecognizable to his own family and unleash his power recklessly, this place would surely become a dead zone.
"The scriptures are broken, which is not surprising. There is a reason for its decline, because it is truly impossible to practice them!" This seemingly ghostly but actually human Ancestor spoke directly.
However, his voice was hoarse, as if he hadn't spoken for many years, and it was quite weak, requiring careful listening.
Even he said he couldn't master it, and his dejected mood left Qin Ming with mixed feelings.
This was a Ancestor, and even he had given up hope on Silk Book Method. What were future generations supposed to do?
"I am not reconciled!" The Ancestor's voice grew louder, Golden Haze appeared in his eyes, like Scorching Sun that could scorch one's Mental Will.
"Ancestor, don't get excited!" Qin Ming rarely had this experience; his consciousness was almost ignited. He knew what it felt like for the Immortal Path Disciple to face him.
This Ancestor, with his white hair and beard, and skin and bones, quickly calmed down and did not unleash the residual divine Heavenly Light within his body.
Qin Ming said, "Ancestor, I am not resigned to this. Please pass on the complete scriptures to me. One day, I will carry them forward and forge a new path based on them!"
He was direct and frank, without any pretense, because he feared that the Ancestor might have mental problems and that they wouldn't have much time to communicate.
"When it comes to the point where it's going to explode, you still dare to practice this method?" the old man asked.
"I'm confident I can resolve the hidden dangers through practice, but I can't quite grasp the complete essence of the technique right now."
The old Ancestor sighed, "It seems that all those who practiced this technique are dead. How tragic! The subsequent chapters are nowhere to be found."
He was decisive; though his arm was stiff, he quickly raised it and placed it on Qin Ming's brow, transmitting a scripture into his consciousness.
Qin Ming was briefly lost in thought, then bowed and said, "Ancestor, this only pertains to the first four realms, which I have already obtained in the Divine Temple. Please pass on the subsequent methods to me!"
The Ancestor was very surprised that the young man before him could break into the Divine Temple and escape unscathed; this was truly remarkable!
"Reaching the Fifth Realm will kill people. Even my Personal Disciple couldn't survive it. We only managed to overcome the calamity by borrowing rare and precious materials. But once we reach the Sixth Realm Perfection, we will inevitably disintegrate. As for higher levels, they must all be wrong. Alas!" He shook his head.
However, in his time, the Sixth Realm was already the limit for all paths!
"Please, Ancestor, transmit the teachings. I will verify them myself and correct them along the way, because I am currently unable to practice any other methods," Qin Ming said firmly.
The old Ancestor stretched out his withered hand and placed it on the shoulder of the boy before him. What kind of person was he? One of the originators of the Silk Book Method, he had spent his whole life studying this scripture, so naturally he knew the boy's situation immediately.
He was quite surprised because the young man's Silk Book Method was very impressive, even better than when they were at this level!
This is a bit outrageous!
After careful examination, he confirmed that Qin Ming's Mid-Second Realm level far surpassed their simulations and deductions from when they were in this realm!
"Alright, I'll pass it on to you!" The Ancestor acted decisively, without any hesitation, and with a single finger, he passed on all the Silk Book Method to him.
A dense array of golden characters appeared in Qin Ming's mind. The entire text was now in his possession and imprinted on his consciousness, like stars illuminating the darkness and making his Mental Field shine brightly.
He was overjoyed; he never imagined that fishing in the Yin Pool late at night would result in such a huge catch.
"That's a dead end. You... make the choice!" The old Ancestor poured cold water on his hopes.
Then the old man added, "You're doing very well on this path so far. I won't interfere or give you any advice; just go at your own pace."
Qin Ming nodded, then inquired about his condition.
"I'm about to die," the old Ancestor said calmly.
Having Sixth Realm Perfection, and with his body on the verge of exploding at any moment, he was unable to venture into the deepest part of the Night Mist World to explore. He chose Kunling, which was nearby, and eventually went to the legendary Jade Capital to seek a solution.
Qin Ming asked, "Ancestor, have you entered the Jade Capital? What is it like there?"
The old Ancestor shook his head and said, "I went in the wrong era. The road ahead was blocked, and the path was cut off."
As he drew nearer, he saw a blurred sky and earth upside down, the rules reversed, and a city faintly visible below.
It seemed close, but he knew that they were not only separated by mountains and seas, but also by the chaotic distribution of the power of the "boundaries," making the Jade Capital elusive and difficult to find.
As for a group of Mad God, it is unknown whether they escaped from Jade Capital or never even entered it. They are delirious, their bodies half-rotted, and they wander around the vicinity.
That feeling led the old Ancestor to believe that those Mad God were refugees, wandering and roaming there.
He said calmly, "I have subdued them."
"Ah!" Qin Ming was taken aback. Could Ancestor with physical problems subdue the Mad God?
The Ancestor said, "Our method is actually very strong, no weaker than any other path, and we are not afraid of encountering Godlike creatures, but we ourselves are easily destroyed."
At the Sixth Realm Perfection, in the Night Mist World he pioneered back then, he was already at the very top of the pyramid, and he certainly had that kind of confidence.
"Why are you out again? Can't you maintain your current state?" Qin Ming asked.
The Ancestor said, "I have already exploded twice in the Sixth Realm. Those were complete disintegrations and shatterings from my physical body to my spirit. I barely survived. As the saying goes, things don't happen more than three times. Now I am indeed about to perish."
Qin Ming said, "Wasn't it only twice?"
The old Ancestor pointed to the cracks on his body, which could not be healed from the inside out, and the same was true for his Divine Intent, which were like pieces of porcelain pieced together.
"Outside the Inverted Jade Capital, I fought not only the Mad God."
He recounted that a deity as radiant as the Great Sun once rode on the back of Golden-Furred Divine Howl, descending through the air, possessing terrifying power.
The Ancestor suspected that a man and a beast emerged from the Jade Capital.
"After he appeared, he wanted to recruit me as a warrior. I could no longer tolerate it, so I fought him with all my might."
In the end, the Ancestor killed the deity and the divine beast, but he also lost control, and his consciousness exploded from his physical body for the third time.
Qin Ming gasped as he looked at the dense cracks on the old man's body. Just how powerful was this Ancestor? To slay a god with a human body!
In an instant, he gained a completely new understanding of the meaning of the Silk Scripture manuscript.
Although this inheritance is extremely dangerous, leading to a near-death experience, once mastered, it becomes so powerful that even the Path-Opening Ancestor of the Night Mist World would not fear Godlike beings.
Of course, not Ancestor Ancestor the same. This old man in front of me is probably the most skilled one among those who practice Silk Book Method!
After that battle, although the Ancestor pieced together his consciousness and body, he became like a walking corpse, his Mental Field closed off, even worse than the Mad God.
He himself didn't know what happened next or how he ended up in the outside world.
Qin Ming had always been curious about the identities of the creators of the laws.
"As you guessed, they come from the Ancestral Court of great sects such as the Six Sovereigns, Tathagata, Jade Clarity Sect, and Sky-Pillar." He was quite frank and told them directly.
The current Ancestor of New Life Path is not the earliest one.
However, the Ancestor did not say which religion he came from.
He looked around at the surroundings and said, "So this is the Yin Pool of Ghost Path. I sneaked in from here back then, wandering around until I got close to Jade Capital. Driven by instinct, I eventually came out from here again."
"These two gods..." Qin Ming looked at the two Mad God were motionless with their eyes closed, like dead men.
The old Ancestor calmly said, "They are considered dead. Their consciousness has long since collapsed. I will take them with me to be buried deep in the earth, to disappear from the mortal Mortal World forever."
"Ancestor!" Qin Ming looked at him, surprised to see such a great figure tonight, yet the man was nearing his end and about to perish.
"I should have died long ago. Of the few of us back then, some died, some were crippled, and some even ventured into the deepest part of the Night Mist World. Now, I should be the only one left."
The old master sighed softly, having lived for so long, even though he had some feelings, he remained quite calm about them.
"Back then, we vowed to forge the most glorious path and leave behind the most powerful scriptures, but in the end, all that remains is ruin, and all our old friends have perished."
Then he pondered, "After falling into depravity, when my fragmented consciousness occasionally cleared, I recalled the Various Scriptures of the past, some of which still shine brightly, untouched by the dust of time."
When they created their method, they consulted a large number of classical texts.
"Upon careful consideration, the luminous characters, even those from different scriptures, all have an inherent connection and similarities. As the saying goes, the greatest truths are the simplest. I have extracted the True Form of each and will now pass it on to you. I believe it will be helpful for Silk Book Method," the Ancestor said.
He raised his hand, but then suddenly stopped.
"Alright, each piece of luminous text is quite short, a few hundred words for the short ones, and barely a thousand words for the longer ones. They come from different classics, and there are four in total. Practice them diligently yourself; perhaps what you gain will differ from my understanding. The best one is the one that suits you!"
The Ancestor bestowed four scriptures, totaling no more than two thousand words. Upon entering Qin Ming's consciousness, they appeared as if the sun, moon, and stars were all present, slowly rotating and emitting dazzling light.
