Vol. 3The Fall of Sunagakure

Saiki Yuu’s drunken attack devastated Sunagakure and helped draw Iwagakure and Kumogakure into the war against Konoha. He returned to Konoha with Tsunade and a large supply of Hiruzen Sarutobi’s wine as the wider war loomed.

  • Hiruzen Sarutobi approved an attack on Sunagakure’s front after learning Yuu had destroyed its largest Transfer Camp. Yuu disguised himself, entered Sunagakure, damaged the Kazekage’s Building, and drank the village’s wine while the elders were evacuated.
  • Yuu ambushed Hattou Hideki’s supply convoy, killed him, and copied his appearance to enter Sunagakure. He slashed through the Kazekage’s Building, killing one elder and severely injuring two others.
  • Yuu fought the Sand Anbu Captain and devastated Sunagakure with sword slashes. Chiyo arrived and attacked him with her puppets as he neared the exhausted captain.
  • Yuu cut apart Chiyo’s puppet-created tornado and accused her of ruining his plans. Chiyo judged him a threat who had to be killed.
  • Yuu tore through Sunagakure with a devastating technique and gravely wounded Chiyo. Minato Namikaze found Yuu among the ruins and brought him back to Konoha’s camp as Rasa ordered a retreat.

Arc 9Yuu Invades Sunagakure

While Konoha attacked Sunagakure’s front, Saiki Yuu cut off its supplies and infiltrated the village in disguise. He split the Kazekage’s Building with a devastating slash, then used the Anbu’s evacuation of the injured elders to drink the village’s wine.

  • Hiruzen Sarutobi revealed that Saiki Yuu had destroyed Sunagakure’s largest Transfer Camp and approved a Konoha attack on the Sand front.
  • Yuu wandered into the Land of Wind, learned that Konoha had launched a major offensive, and decided to make a dramatic return rather than go back to camp.
  • Yuu ambushed Hattou Hideki’s supply convoy, destroyed it with a sword slash, and forced Hattou Hideki to guide him toward Sunagakure.
  • Rasa ordered a widespread search for the attacker, while Hiruzen Sarutobi sent Minato Namikaze and the Ino-Shika-Cho team into the Land of Wind to coordinate with Yuu.
  • Yuu killed Hattou Hideki, copied his appearance, and slaughtered the thirty-five guards at One Line Sky before entering Sunagakure.

Arc 10Yuu's Assault on Sunagakure

Yuu attacked Sunagakure alone and devastated the village while the Sand shinobi struggled to stop him. As he moved to finish the exhausted Sand Anbu Captain, Elder Chiyo arrived to confront him.

  • The Sand Anbu Captain discovered Yuu hiding in the damaged Kazekage's Building, where Yuu admitted that he had attacked Sunagakure as a greeting.
  • The Sand Anbu Captain fought Yuu, but Yuu cut through his Wind Release and, after his anger boosted his abilities, wounded him and drove the battle outside.
  • Yuu unleashed destructive sword slashes across Sunagakure, killing many defenders and reducing the Kazekage's Building and the surrounding area to ruins.
  • Rasa recalled search teams and border forces to defend Sunagakure, while Minato learned of the invasion and set out alone to rescue Yuu.
  • The Sand Anbu Captain and Vice-Captain used Wind Release: Tornado Strangulation, but Yuu cleaved the hurricane apart with Heart Slash and gained swordsmanship comprehension.

Arc 11Sunagakure’s Ruin

Yuu’s drunken detour into the Land of Wind ended with him destroying Sunagakure and forcing its forces to retreat. Back at Konoha’s camp, his victory reshaped the village’s war plans, while Tsunade discovered that her fear of blood had eased.

  • Chiyo attacked Yuu with the Ten Puppets of Chikamatsu, but after he unleashed a devastating technique that tore through Sunagakure, she was left gravely wounded.
  • Minato found Yuu among the ruins, heard how he had wandered into the Land of Wind and attacked Sunagakure on a whim, then brought him back to Konoha’s camp.
  • Pakura and the survivors treated Chiyo and rescued the wounded, while Rasa ordered Sunagakure’s forces to retreat after learning the scale of the losses.

Arc 12Yuu Returns to Konoha

After Yuu’s attack on Sunagakure helped bring Iwagakure and Kumogakure into the war against Konoha, he returned to a hero’s welcome and resumed tormenting Danzo and Hiruzen Sarutobi. He collected a large supply of Hiruzen’s fine wine and settled in with Tsunade, while the war against the remaining villages loomed.

  • Yuu discovered that Tsunade’s hemophobia had been cured by drinking his blood, while the system explained that alcohol had strengthened his recovery and his blood’s alcohol essence had cured her.
  • Ōnoki learned that Saiki Yuu had attacked Sunagakure and allied Iwagakure with it, while the Third Raikage declared war on Konoha, leaving Konoha facing three great villages.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi recalled Yuu and other elites from the Sunagakure front, planned Konoha’s response to Iwagakure and Kumogakure, and considered the possibility that Kirigakure would join the war.
