Getting Started
The Main Library Building, also known as the Magic Headquarters.
This core building is equivalent to the Dark Moon Tower within the [Mysticism Department.
The building, which integrates offices, libraries, secret archives, and high-level meeting rooms, is one of the most important buildings within the Knight Academy.
Unlike other departments.
In addition to the department heads and deputy department heads who teach and manage students, the library also has a Vice Curator of the same rank who is responsible for managing the unique Royal Knights Academy Library.
Currently, the Demps is taking Han Dong to meet is the high-ranking and powerful Vice Curator.
Its exterior is designed to resemble Big Ben, but it is distinct from the Clock Tower, which controls the Destiny Space, and is surrounded by a strong magical aura.
They presented a pass authorized by Lady Hera.
The two officially entered the Main Library Building.
First, they must traverse a ten-meter-long passage covered with various magical runes. These runes will further detect whether the two are carrying any items or possess any dangerous traits.
During this process, the Crow's Mark on the back of Han Dong's right hand faintly appeared.
Combined with the Perfect Disguise of the "Faceless Head," it successfully evaded the scrutiny of these glyphs.
Demps, standing nearby, reminded him:
"The Main Library Building was designed and reconstructed by the former director. It adopts a multi-dimensional 'staircase' structure for the first time. If it's your first time here, you can easily get lost. Stay close to me... otherwise it will be very difficult for me to find you again."
When the gate of the inspection channel opens.
The ingenious layout of the library lobby made Han Dong stop in his tracks.
A staircase that clearly does not conform to the rules of three-dimensional space is designed in this open hall.
Some library staff members wearing double-breasted trench coats were walking up these steps in different directions.
As long as you grasp the rules, you can freely go to any area of Main Library Building.
If one tries to understand such a staircase using a normal three-dimensional spatial concept, one will inevitably feel bewildered and lost within it.
The existence of the 'multi-dimensional staircase' maximizes and complicates the space utilization of the Main Library Building.
Even if an outsider were to break in, they would inevitably get lost and unable to reach any important areas if they failed to decipher the staircase's structure immediately, giving security personnel time to act.
"Penrose Stairs -Stairs?"
Han Dong had worked with such multi-dimensional models before his Han Dong, since sometimes micro-scale calculations are required, and Han Dong's mathematical skills were quite good.
In basic mathematics, there is the concept of multidimensional space.
However, this only helps mathematicians understand the concept of multidimensional space and is difficult to apply to the field of physics... After all, humans are only individuals in three-dimensional space, and it is difficult for them to understand the structure of higher dimensions from a low-dimensional perspective.
"If we follow this structure... taking the turning point of the stairs here as the center, theoretically we can make four vertical lines, which is indeed the case judging from the way these people walk."
A stepped design that projects four-dimensional space onto three-dimensional space.
"The former curator... is he that amazing?"
Seeing Han Dong looking thoughtful to the side.
Demps asked curiously, "Nicholas, do you have some understanding of multidimensional space?"
"I only know some partial concepts, which cannot be considered insights."
"That's already amazing... Spatial Studies is far more difficult than regular magic."
The initial stage of learning the space alone can filter out 99% of Knight-Errant, and subsequent learning is even more difficult.
The Holy City hasn't produced a captain-level space mage for a very long time.
I am currently making time to learn about and study "Spatial Studies".
There seems to be some hidden meaning in Demps's statement.
Han Dong asked with some curiosity:
"Speaking of which, aren't there some beings in the Destiny Space who are proficient in spatial abilities?"
"They are merely born with some interaction with multidimensional space, but they are not experts. The spatial abilities they possess are bestowed upon them, not learned by themselves... Most of them cannot understand the principles behind them."
A true spatial mage is virtually impossible to kill, Supreme Being.
"Let's go, we can't keep Lady Hera waiting too long."
The moment Han Dong stepped onto the stairs, Han Dong felt that the normally normal library lobby had become 'folded'. The seemingly simple stairs could easily span a large distance, allowing him to reach any area of the library building at will.
It constantly folds back and moves longitudinally.
A staircase hanging diagonally on the wall corresponds to the [Third Reading Room].
Once you enter a room inside the Main Library Building.
The interior immediately returned to its normal three-dimensional spatial structure. Inside the library, which is about ten meters high, more than a dozen pairs of white gloves were 'self-organizing' the books and cleaning the room.
Some older students are using their precious time to read and study here.
Led by Demps, they found Lady Hera at the Depths of the reading room.
A blonde beauty wearing wire-rimmed glasses possessed a beauty reminiscent of a movie star, and appeared to be around thirty-five years old.
However, her figure and skin texture are definitely comparable to some models in their early twenties.
"Oh... you're Mr. Black and White's student? Come with me."
Hera touched a special switch, opening a hidden staircase leading to the Vice Curator's private office.
"Please sit down."
Lady Hera deliberately had Demps sit next to her so that she could cross her long legs over Demps.
Han Dong, on the other hand, sat on the guest sofa.
"I heard you're thinking of minoring in [Library Science]? Have you allocated any points for it?"
"Hmm... I've already invested 3 points."
Hera was slightly surprised. She thought Han Dong would ask about the feasibility before investing, but she didn't expect him to have already invested in the three important points.
"Oh!? Three o'clock... Not bad! Do you plan to mainly study in the Mysticism Department, or will you spend most of your time in our library?"
This question requires careful consideration before answering.
"I will try to balance both, but since the library started so late, I will try to stay in the library to study as much as possible in the early stages."
Hera's expression was rather indifferent to Han Dong's response.
"If it weren't for Demps asking me to 'take you in'... no teacher in the library would touch a hot potato like you. You should know that while minors aren't completely forbidden, they are certainly not encouraged."
Because minoring in certain subjects diverts students 'Destiny Points and energy, many end up failing even the most basic knightly exams.
There are two conditions for becoming a full-time student under my tutelage.
"Please go ahead, Vice Curator Hera."
"First, if you are truly capable, you can develop a unique Talent Tree like the ' Great Plague Lord '."
You need to state at the Knights' Commendation Ceremony that I am your sole tutor for your minor, and that I provided tremendous assistance during your studies of library science.
Secondly, the long-term pass I applied for for you only means that you are a ' Visiting Scholar ', and compared to students within my department, you will have far fewer rights.
However, since you have such a good relationship with Demps, you can ask him for help with some things that you can't do yourself.
I've heard that Mr. Black and White thinks highly of you, and it would be good if you and Demps could have more private exchanges.
"OK..."
In fact, Lady Hera's request can be put simply as follows: without clearing Han Dong's name, she wants him to study secretly in the library.
If he achieves something in the future, he should say that he has received great favor from the library and acknowledge that he is Knight-Errant jointly trained by the Mysticism Department and the library.
However, it's already a pretty good result that Han Dong has been granted a long-term pass; we can consider the rest later.
My flight was delayed today, and I'm quite tired and worried it might affect my writing quality. I'll only post two updates today, and then make up for it with a third update on Saturday.
